They tend to have two Stay and Scream areas. I don't see why they can't change it to Fast Food Blvd instead of Kidzone and open the two tents first. Finns gets a serious crowd because of pre-gaming, I could see Moe's doing the same though.

But the light in the tents suck when open early, however I would prefer the food over there more than that of Fins.

They're not the best, but not as bad as Jaws or Disaster, which people went through when it was incredibly bright.

Have you guys ever stopped to think that maybe it's not creative that is letting us down? Mike Aiello is an amazing tallent, just look at the backstory he originally wrote for HHN 20 with the Halloween Tree and Cindy? There is no lack of creativity with this group, the problem is the big shots being money hungry. Of course they are going to do what is going to draw the largest sum of money out of Orlando, thats what big horror movies do. I'm sure it all started with the Saw house a few years back and just steadily snowballed into the kind of overall lack of theme we had last year and it looks the same for this year. At least they will be kind enough to keep a whole Legendary Truth segment for the fans.

Saw

Properties have been being used for years. If anything I'd say the new IP era started in 2007.

Thanks. I realize that. Saw was probably the biggest and most recent Horror franchise that HHN has done/Cash cow. Thats what I was getting at.

See, I don't think last year had a lack of theme. It was just that they had to scramble to make something out of a park that was literally 50% construction wall. There was a theme last year, it just wasn't done with the marketing.

Also, I think it's pretty clear already that this year is being pointed in a story direction with the video that's been posted.

Funny you bring up the HHN 20 alternate story. I honestly think we may see some of that used this year.

Not sure, but would be a perfect spot. They used the Kidzone area in the past, I believe one year we waited over there. Could have been for something to do with pass holders though, that was years ago and my memory is kinda of lacking since im sure we had already started drinking way before that point

You are correct! They held the Stay and Scream pass holders at the entrance of Kids Zone in 2011.

See, I just don't see the event being that much better even if there wasn't construction going on everywhere. Besides a Jaws house, what exactly did the construction prevent? A scarezone b/t Shrek and S44? There's not usually any scarezone over in the Diagon Alley construction. Unless budgets were being diverted and time was a big problem, I don't see how construction impacted the event, and even considering budget and time, HHN is a whole different entity than the normal operation of the park--they all have their own teams doing their own things. So I'm not sure I buy the construction excuse.

Hopefully this year is a step back in the right direction.

Lack of scare zone down Shrek alley. Dead space in Amity zone. Light bleeding in New York. The hordes didn't really go by any construction zones and that was the whole back left and a decent chunk of other land.

Potter 2.0 tech testing in SS23 and TNA still in SS21, the loss of an 8th house when TF was given the green light, parade affecting scarezones.

Point is the team had a lot to deal with last year. They obviously didn't handle it well (though I don't think the event was as awful as most), but I think overall this year will be significantly better for a multitude of reasons.

But even then, there WAS a theme last year. The Legions emerging and them tying into all the events of the past is a pretty intricate back story, and one I commend the team for giving us. Point is they definitely tried to give us a story last year, and IMO it was leagues better than Lady Luck's half baked story form the year before. Difference is the event overall wasn't as good as 21's.

The big change is that instead of tying together the houses, last year's theme only applied to the streets. Judging by this year's alleged house lineup, that will probably be the case once again. At least they're still giving the hardcore fans some backstory, and if they can build off of last year's games while also improving the overall street experience I'd be content I suppose.

I don't think anyone is blaming the creatives - and anyone who does is foolish. It's been well-known for a while that the new Comcast executives (allegedly the ones "out West") are the culprits for the shift in approach (aka, IP sharing and cutting all of the little things).

The problem is people keep confusing this argument - I can't tell if they're doing it intentionally, or if they're actually trying to throw people off the trail. If legitimately criticize the event you get responses like "hey man, A&D is working REALLY hard, they do everything they can for us!" I know. We know. That isn't the problem...

As long as they're trying, I can't fault them on the story side. Execution is a different thing all together.

That being said, I believe there will be an icon, and that the event will be more held together than Aiello and the others are letting on.

Also, I don't see the "COMCAST IS RUINING THE EVENT" panic that many seem to have in the community.Fact is there are more nights this year. Fact is budgets and assets were approved to give A&D/Creative the ability to run Legendary Truth year round. Fact is there is still clearly a sizable budget given to the event yearly. Some have a problem with IPs. I guess that may qualify as ruining the event for you, then. But other than that I don't see how the fans are getting it stuck to them.
