Okay, so assuming it is KKFOS, that means we probably have the following 8 houses:

KKFOS
TWD
Halloween
AVP
Dracula Untold
Croatoa or Thanksgiving (I am hearing both)
Evil dolls
Boogeyman

Also, I know there was talk of From Dusk Til Dawn at some point but last I knew that was replaced with the Croatoa or Thanksgiving styled house. Maybe it changed back?
Anyone have anything else to add to the speculation?

That seems about right, just wish we had another announcement to make more things official. Hopefully we get one during the "look into the future" this week

Costumes and makeup are still pretty top notch, but I haven't spoken to any SAs in a couple of years, did they really stop any sort of training? I will admit that the scare tactics they've been using the last couple of years is severely lacking but I just thought that was because of the people they hired and not bad training.

Their Zombie make up, the past three of the last four years, has been bad. Zombi Gra was atrocious and the WD hasn't been as half as good as it should have been

I did not attend the event in 2008, but I will say that if it was that much better than last year, then I cant even imagine how great it must have been. I thought 5 of the 8 houses last year were great (AWiL, CitW, ED, LL and WD, in that order for me). I think everyone for the most part agrees the scare zones were lame, but I do applaud them for trying something new. I was excited going into it, but think they fell short of expectations. And because of this they are adjusting this years lineup, which they should. So it is hard for me in seeing what an incredible event this is to agree that the quality is lacking so bad because I don't have the perception of the better years. I only see it as what it is now, and think its awesome.

Now I understand your posts better. Also if you became a fan of HHN after 2010 it would also explain why some of us feel different to what you are saying
Yes, 2008 WAS that amazing. The scariest house I ever visited was 2008, some of the BEST scarezones we have had was in 2008.

The Skool house is my favorite HHN street prop (or set) the streets were simply amazing, and the houses were great too. (The Music was way better than anything they have played in the last two years)

Well that's probably why youre not really understanding what this whole issue is really about. The extra depth that used to prevail at HHN wasnt just something a few hardcore fans noticed. You became a fan of Halloween Horror Nights during its less-inspired years...thats fine, but then again you dont have the same high standard to hold the event to that some of the rest of us do.

The Roddy years as I call them...2008 was brilliant, 2007 wasn't bad either (and it had IPs!)

I really liked 2007 myself. Had some really amazing houses like dead science, thing and home for the holidays. Also had an awesome jack show. Definitely one for the books

2007's lack of scarezones stands out. It was my first HHN, I have no complaints otherwise.

I'm in the minority here but I wasn't a huge fan of 18. I rank 19, 20 and 21 over it, no doubt.

Oh no doubt the scare zones were 22 standards but the amazing houses made up for it, all were A+ For me. 18 was my overall favorite (even though reflections sucked). 19 and 21 were sweet. 20 was definitely mixed

The thing I'm most interested in is where it will be located. Drew brought it up a long time ago in a podcast. Diagon will need to stay open late during September and October since it will still be new and international tourists will be ticked off if they close at 5. So what does this mean for where it will be held? If they do both parks, I will be so excited.:whoo:

Both parks being used has been ruled out for this year from the marketing that's been released and the permits that have leaked out. Park hours should be posted in a couple of weeks for October, so hopefully anyone that goes in September or October will have planned ahead.

So... I may be late on the news but, when did the Alien house turn into AVP?? Rumor-wise anyway.

I can easily get over Walking Dead if we still had the icons, overarching theme, backstory, layered website, unique commercial, better house construction, real scare zones, actually-trained actors, top-of-the-line costumes & makeup, etc...

That's definitely one thing that made me fall in love with the event on my first year (XVIII). All the little details, the layers, the depth. Even if there were some weaknesses, the overall event was cohesive and you could feel the artistry and the passion... and that made the event that much more special. Cool stuff like this guy's work: http://wallacedesign.carbonmade.com/projects/5168471

I remember there was one big Mime scarezone in 2007, It started next to the Jack show. I also remember people in stilts that were dressed like animals, i remember one of the girls was a zebra.

And I also remember in front of the mummy they had clowns and there was a guy riding a little duck car. (Plus the clowns in motorcycles.)

the streets in 2007 were not completely empty. I don't know why that's always the notion. it didn't have a lot but it wasn't completely void of actors. I Loved the houses in 2007, I wouldn't mind if they brought every house back. If walking dead gets 3 years in a row, I wouldn't mind a repeat of Jason and Leatherface again. I would welcome it.

Alleged Scarezones:

The Purge – New York
Not sure if this will be based off of the upcoming and much needed sequel or if it’ll be a combo of both. When I first saw this movie I pictured this as more of a house. Can’t wait to see how they are going to pull this off.

•Face Off “7″ Style – Hollywood Blvd
If this zone is to be similar to “7″ then hopefully it’s done a bit better. I LOVE the concept of evolving scare zones but I think it just confuses the general public who still need a map, but this isn’t about them.

•New Orleans Voodoo Zone with Witches & Gypsies – Central Park
Without knowing more, it seems like a recycled Zombie Gras. Less zombies, same costumes. Just a guess.

•“Japanese zone with some sort of Geishas.” – Sting Alley
I highly doubt that is politically correct and I apologize. It’s exactly how it was told to me. Uncharted territory, could be fun. I’m a big fan of anything being done in Sting Alley. Unless it get’s a better spin, guest services should expect phone calls.

•Bloody Masquerade Ball Zone – Plaza of the Stars
I imagine this will be fairly similar to the 2006 scare zone, Blood Masquerade.

Scary geishas in sting alley just creeps me out thinking about it. Overall sounds pretty damn good, hopefully the purge will be in production central aswell just to get a big wow moment when you walk in

For those not plugged in, I have been told KKFOS is a no go and that Crows may once again be Altar. If my previous guesses were all correct, that leaves us looking like this:

TWD
AVP
Halloween
Dracula Untold
From Dusk Til Dawn (assuming it is altar and not crows)
Clown house
Scary doll house
Boogeyman

You have added things and then taken away things, and in doing so, shot your list in the foot. Croatoan must be returned to the list.
