I wonder what decor they are going to hang on the front gate like years past? Normally it has the logos from all the IP’s. I wonder if this year they won’t since they have “logos” and “opening credits” in the very first zone you walk in.

Altars last year had logos as well but they still had the posters on the steel fencing at the front gate.

The amount of activity brewing in the Atlantic is a bit concerning...We're headed the 2nd week. What happens if a hurricane hits the area? Guessing at a minimum scarezones closed but surely they cancel the event if it's a bad one? Hoping not the case obviously as flying over from Scotland for the event.

Cancel if the hurricane is hitting Orlando. Just like last year.

Those auditions we're 100% for the house.

Edit: and to fill any random roles that were still open.

Late to the party, but yes I’m very confident those auditions were for the house. It seemed like at a point that some IP characters would be in the zone but (thankfully) it doesn’t seem like it will be going that way at all. I’m agreeing Harvest is like a house plopped in a street and that’s much better than AoH 2.0 like originally speculated. No ST characters will be in the zone, so I highly doubt other IPs will have characters in it

I'm really hoping Harvest is just scarecrows and none of the IP's are walking around. For one, it was just plain dumb last year. All these IP's walking together but having to stay in really small areas to not intermix with the other IP's. Second, the fact that the twins basically had an escort all night long closely watching them and guests took away from the zone. Finally, it was a major selfie zone and I HATE that. Let the actors do their job and scare you. Getting a picture with them takes away all the "Scary" the character has. I'm sure the IP holders were not super thrilled with all the pictures of their IP characters popping up online with guests in them. Killer Klowns is already going to be enough of a selfie zone, let this one be scary!

To add to what everyone else suggested remember that a hurricane in the Atlantic does not mean it hits Florida nor that it even makes landfall. You will have a better chance of winning the lotto than getting hit by a hurricane. Only takes one and all that but unless Orlando is in the "cone" two days out I would come and have a great time.

Well, I've been through five hurricanes and never won the lotto, so I'm obviously doing something wrong.

Well if you played the lotto as often as you set foot in Fla/La then your odds would be better but this is a vacation for what three weeks? We get jaded living here but the risk is not that great judging by all the 100 year old homes still around.
I guess what I mean is you are still here and didn't die after going through five so not a reason to cancel a vacation or expect to have bad weather during one.

We're going the weekend of the 22nd. Florence is hitting the Carolina's on Thursday (hoping folks are taking the needed steps), Helene is staying in the Atlantic right now and Isaac is heading on southerly track. nhc.noaa.gov is our go-to site this time of year. Lost out on going to HHN in 2005 ago w/ Wilma. It's a crap shoot. Just prepare for rain regardless. (We were soaked last year, but still had a good time)

Been doing some pre-fright nights viewing to get prepared for the event.

Stranger Things, Trick R Treat, Poltergeist, and first time views of Halloween 4 and Killer Klownz and I'm pumped.

I'm so amped up over what the Poltergeist house could entail

you have ten houses to get scared in, and 5 zones, having a couple of them be photo ops is not big deal

With the amount of huge crowds that HHN gets, im still amazed and surprised when people get truly scared in the zones with the amount of guests around them. sometimes there are so many people you cant even walk around the zones or the actors.

this event is growing so much, photo op zones will be inevitable. EVEN if universal was to ban selfies, there are too many people taking pictures of the actors anyway. universal would have had to ban cameras and i could see that being a nightmare.
Do I personally like people taking selfies in the zones? no, it can get annoying for the actors. can get annoying to have people touching the actors, are selfies at HHN inevitable? yes, they will happen

Specially when Universal promotes their instagram page at the park and ASKS people to Share their Selfies" on Instagram.... think about that..... universal has clips in their queue videos telling people they can share their selfies on instagram.....
