Those insiders might be right. Candyman being replaced with Blumhouse comes to mind. :shrug:

It's possible it can happen or could be quickly pulled, I can't see Candyman possibly happening this late in the game, I think they would just honestly take the quick and fast idea of coming up with an original and throwing it in there to savor what they've already made.

Blumhouse, especially Freaky was the IP I was most excited for, if that got scrapped that’ll be a major blow for my personal interest this year. If it’s Weeknd or Evil Dead I won’t mind at all.

Agreed, that would be a big bummer for me if Blumhouse doesn’t happen. Definitely the IP I’m most excited for.

First thing that came to mind for me was a Transformers situation...where the powers that be decided to move up the timeframe / reinstate the old timeframe for demolishing Fear Factor. Of course, I don't have anything near any sources so my reactionary thought means nothing.

Edit - that was confusing by me, I was talking about the show being in chaos...not a house.

I honestly don't doubt a show happening back in Fear Factor, with the HP ride cancelled, its just sitting there abandoned, it makes sense for it to be used. As for houses, I honestly see Blumhouse sticking around and Candyman might be let go, I don't it'll be too shocking lol, changes have happened too many times in the past, its sorta expected sometimes at this point.

Whatever the change is (unless it's losing Halloween) is only going to affect us 0.1% of the potential HHN crowd who are super nerds following spec maps, posting on forums, and the like.

Any other change, which might seem seismic to us, doesn't even register for the GP or the event organizers as nothing is official until it's announced. So anything that changes..never was a thing in the first place.

I think were good with Halloween lol and yeah, the GP are gonna come regardless, money is money, marketing is marketing, there are people who don't follow what we do, they just come to event in droves because its what they love doing every year I don't think many care as long as they get to experience the event.

I think originals and overall themes and such can change as many times as needed and the GP won’t bat an eye. But there most definitely is a fair portion of the casual crowd who decide whether to go or not based on the IP houses.

I often say “the only IP that gets me excited is ___” or “I’m not very excited for ____ IP.” Though I think calling an entire year “underwhelming” based on house lineup alone is a bit ridiculous.

While obviously it can be kind of annoying to see a property you don’t like on the list, or disheartening to see a property you DO like not make the cut, going off the limb to say a whole event is underwhelming off the bat seems just like you’re asking for a bad time.

Even though the properties don’t make me jump for joy besides The Weeknd, I know I’m probably going to be shocked by how intense the actors in Blumhouse or Halloween are. And I mean, it’s always an absolute ball of an event so I know I’m gonna have fun.

I think you have have both. I think you can be underwhelmed by speculated lineup and still go in with an open mind. The reason I used the word underwhelming is because normally after spec map 2, there’s at least two houses I’m super excited to go through. There are no houses this year I cannot wait to walk through. That doesn’t mean I won’t have a good time or I’ll hate all the houses. Just if this is the lineup, I’m not excited about any of them. It could also go the same way. You could be super excited for a house and then walk through it and be disappointed afterwards. 28 is a perfect example. I wasn’t excited about Halloween 4, but I ended up loving the house. I was super excited about Carnival Graveyard, but I was disappointed in the house. So yes. You are right. Just because we don’t see a house we wanted or we see houses we don’t want, we should still go in with an open mind. But I think it is okay to label houses as being underwhelming by thinking of them in relation to a house.

I totally get you, didn’t mean to be like “raaggghhh your opinion is invalid” it’s just that often people literally use house lineups to be like “THE EVENT HAS GONE DOWNHILL I MISS THE OLD DAYS” which is always frustrating. Not saying that’s what you meant, but something I often see on Twitter and stuff.
