Wondering will we ever see a house return to where the second shrek theater was? I thought I read somewhere that this space was left available after the minions take over for this reason.

There is space left, yes. A decent amount too.

I imagine they'll use it if they lose a location or, God forbid, they increase the house count.

As per what I had been told, the blank area that is now present is too small for that of a HHN house venue, and has been relegated to other aspects of park aspects.

It may of one point been possible to do it, had the building been done a certain way; but I have been told that Villain-Con is not possible for HHN.

my understanding is that space is currently unavailable for horror nights. I haven’t heard anything to suggest that’s changed.

Just looking at that diagram, assuming the orientation in the overlayed picture is correct, they can’t use it for HHN because the empty space is in the wrong spot.

Is it because it would likely be exiting out into the street? Queue and house entrance set up similar to how it was for the old Shrek houses, but exit dumps directly into what's usually stroller parking?

Yep. That exit dump is right onto Minion Blvd, which is THE major thoroughfare during the event. Setting up a house to dump there would be crushing.

A final scene with the smile demon in one of those endless mirror rooms where its giant smile was all around you would be pretty epic.

Or a final scene combining the mirrors with strobes and smiling people/mannequins where a few of them are real, finally culminating with the demon puppet springing down at you from the darkness overhead after being disoriented by the lights and mirrors, all while a Skye Riley song plays as you exit. Now THAT could make for a heck of a house ending!

It'd be a bit of a cluster, but theoretically couldn't this work?

House would enter through the door by the street (barricades set up for queue), exits back out into the queue and dumps by the portal? Or to avoid a cluster there, exit goes in opposite direction and dumps out by Mel's/Transformers meet-n-greet?

It's been mentioned, but if the space is too small for a house, it could be a good for an indoor M&G area or just a general "flex area" for bars/dining.

What will Universal do next year in order to help subsidize the loss of RockIt's attraction capacity? Just reopen Transformers?

If anything, I think opening up E.T. next year could work with no major house entrances/exits over there anymore. Would at least provide guests something to do back there.

Really not that crazy of an idea. It was open during HHN for a few years, 2012-2015.

Not sure if this is a hot take or not, but I would love ET to be open during HHN - it's not on brand at all really, but I would take time out of HHN to ride it, and that's basically the only ride at USF that would be worth it for me.

It would be your chance to ride Minions without a ridiculous line.

With Rockit being gone, I'd have to imagine they'll at least bring back Transformers.

Strange thought though - Rockit has a September 2025 closure. I'm curious if they will still run it during HHN up until the closing date.

The only way it would work is if they expanded into the VC queue space (which wouldn’t work because VC needs it). The house queue would mostly be backstage (which also wouldn’t work, because they need that for Mel’s).

Basically, VC isn’t viable as a house location anymore. At most, it could replace Gardens of Allah as the R.I.P. check-in.
