Agreed fully. I’m also in the 2 former camps, but not the 3rd. I don’t disagree that the character herself is tragic and that’s the point of the film, but unless there’s a storyteller following her around explaining how she’s been abused mentally and describing the implications of Bear actually being the villain and explaining consent…. I don’t think it’s a problem. If that was the case, the Shining should’ve been a BIG problem, but it wasn’t, because HHN is here just to bring pop culture and horror media to life in a very face value way, and that’s honestly how it should be. The deeper meanings and implications is for the viewer to watch and determine in their own time, outside the event.
