Does anyone know if the booth offering the Mini-Puft s’mores takes requests on how well-done the marshmallow. Would prefer to have a darker outside/gooey inside.

Another hotel guest entrance question. Does everyone in your party need to be a hotel guest? My wife and I (Cabana Bay) are going again tonight and lining up for the 6:30 open. Two of our friends who are local will be joining us. Do they need room keys / proof of hotel stay to join us in line?

My recollection is they needed to see a room key for everyone they admitted.

This strategy is for those that do not want to stand in a line in a Stay and Scream. We entered the Lombard's stay and scream at 4:00 pm and walked around to the patio furniture on the other side of Lombard's and sat there until 5:15. By far the most comfortable I have ever been in a stay and scream. We then went across to the other side and entered the food and drink area. They will move both lines for Goblins and Monsters around 5:45, after that they opened the gates for us to line up at slaughter (2 people on the first night 5 people on the second night). The house opens at exactly 6. After a quick run through we went to Goblins and Monsters which are complete walk-on until 6:40 pm or so (they even pulsed us through because it is so empty). We did Slaughter, Goblins 3 times, and monsters in 30 mins on a Friday night and there still was not a line when we left. Hope this is helpful to someone that is tired of the NY area.

Quick question - whilst not strictly needed, what type of 3-D glasses work in Slaughter Sinema 2? Would the cheap ones for the cinema work, or do you need the red/blue lens ones, or chromodepth? Trying to find out without spoiling the house as won’t be there until beginning of October, and apologies if this has already been answered before.

It’s the chromadepth, really have enjoyed my runs while having them on

Yes, just ask at the pickup spot.

After a few nights, the best S&S strategy for New York: Ghostbusters @ 5:15 > Grab Food/Tribute Store > Insidious closer to 6/park open. Word is out that Insidious is the best house this year, so the majority of the S&S crowd goes there first. They'll keep the posted wait at 45-60 throughout S&S until park open, but closer to 6:00 the line drops down significantly to an actual 10 minute wait.

To add onto that, the glasses are pretty fun to wear for the majority of the house as most of the posters are gonna' pop and even various movies end up a bit trippier due to the effect. Now I will say (non-spoilers, of course), the only scenes where you're not gonna' get much of an effect are the last couple movies at the end. Part of it is the lack of red which really pops out, and it's also due to the lighting effects used. Now as for when to know when you really don't need the glasses, it's when you come across a set of movie posters which are predominantly yellow, can't miss it as there's only one movie poster which is pretty much all yellow. Other than that, have fun!

Not sure if this should go in this thread or a different one, but Saturday night we had a really bad run in Universal Monsters. We literally saw zero scareactors for the first 75% of the house and maybe had 4-5 total once we were done with it. I looked at my watch and it had just past 8:30 so it's possible we were very unlucky with a cast transition. I know they will usually stop the line whenever they do the swap out, but I don't recall being paused for any significant amount of time. My wife and I weren't sure if we should say something to a TM because we didn't think they'd do anything any way, but have any of you had this happen before and did you say something afterwards?

Yes, unfortunately its just the way they do things. They don't really stop the flow of guests nowadays unless house access is limited.

You can ask at the end, but every time I do the TMs just say sorry and recommend you come back.

I also think Universal needs to stop having houses open for S&S with half of the actors missing. I get that these houses take a good amount of time to get up and running, but S&S has become such a crucial part of the event experience nowadays and we should expect the houses to be running at their A-game from the start.
