The only way I can see either "giant demon/creature" effect being pulled off is if they used it as the maze façade/entrance... similar to something like this..

speaking of façades, I still can't believe Murdy's crap excuse for not recreating the mansion exterior for Crimson Peak's façade. "Oh if it was scaled down, it would look like a dollhouse"... Has he not heard of "forced perspective"? -_-  So I'm curious to see what they do instead for that...

The demon on top of the house could probably be done similar to the giant La Lloronas 

I have no idea about the the one at the end though

^ That's my question too, or how *spoiler* they're gonna make the sinkhole/ Michael Cera being impaled scene work. That Lamppost is tall as hell, unless they plan on making it lean back and forth and never stand up right.... Plus the sink hole is ginormous. 

They could maybe make the sinkhole in a way that it looks like its just started to open up so they could get past the size issue. I'm guessing Micheal Cera's scene will be when he first gets impaled since hes closer to the ground.

It's such a ridiculous excuse, he's scaled down large structures before. From what it seems like, they're focusing more on the inside scenery.

I can kinda understand. He's scaled down buildings before but that mansion is huge...like ridiculously huge. I don't think it would look very convincing. Hell even Insidious' facade seemed off IMO

yea, it is a weak excuse. While it was inside a soundstage... I keep thinking of Orlando's 2012 house "Gothic", which was a church. Obviously churches tend to be rather huge, especially old gothic style cathedrals...

Yea, as I said, this was inside a soundstage, along with many other amazing façades in the past, but large-scale impressive facades can be done outside as well. And considering where Crimson Peak is located on the backlot, it wouldn't hinder filming either.. /end gripe

True, although most of the bigger façades while looking a bit off due to the forced perspective still set the tone really well. Del Toro is kind of a perfectionist so I can see why they wouldn't do it. Still really excited for it though, seems like this Maze will have La Llorona level theming and can't have enough of that!

***WHOOPS, no he didn't. I really wonder what made Murdy choose a tent for Crimson Peak over a soundstage. He could've kicked AVP to the curb for next year, and done Krampus/Dark Christmas in the backlot.

Some have suspected that "Rock Festival" is "Halloween", but I believe the original guess was "TWD"...

I don't think they would announce a shared property at an event focused on haunt events in L.A county. Well aside from the negative reaction it would get.  :mellow:

Yea, that's why now that we know what maze codename will be announced I expect it to be Halloween... (unless it is "This is the End", but I doubt it)

As for TWD, they should just not even make an announcement... just add it to the website & carry on. Hell we've had all of this lack of announcements, it would've been the perfect time to just throw it out there. Or even say "AVP" is back again.

That is one of my biggest gripes about the event. Other events will be like "This, this, and that are returning this year", then mention if something "new" is being done to it in some way. But when it comes to HHN, it has to be like some big secret as if it has never been done at the event before. AVP & TWD should've been added to the site by now. I'd say the same about Halloween too, but that actually has the possibility of actually being "new"-ish.

Never realized but there is a shot of Edith's childhood home in the international trailer for Crimson Peak. If this is our façade... I'm certainly not complaining.

...heres a interesting thought. What if were not getting the original Halloween film but getting Halloween 2 and Halloween 3: Season of The Witch? As in 2009, it was based on the first film with some bits of the Rob Zombie incarnation.

Looks like the facade could be the hospitalhospital. Looks like it could be based off of 2 and maybe the other sequels.
