The smell of the pea soup vomit is still on my face. Really gross, haha.

To HHNManiacs, I too loved the slow version of Mr. Sandman! Was very nostalgic and set the mood super nicely, I loved it! Hopefully I find it soon.

So, I'm also new here and had a couple questions regarding entry. I have an AP and I'm going to Horror nights with a couple friends who are purchasing the enter at 2pm day/night ticket. I assume they get wristbands or something when they go in? Am I going to have to go back out and have my horror nights ticket scanned at some point or can I get a wristband when I go in around 2? I looked around the Universal website and there doesn't seem to be that much info regarding this. Thanks for any answers. Excited for what seems like a very positive year!

Well your friends have 2pm passes so they will be fine. However I'm not so sure if you have a normal Annual Pass for the park they should let you possibly? If you have a Horror nights pass or frequent fear pass they will let you in. If you have a normal HHN ticket and have a normal Annual Pass they should give you the orange wristbands for Early Entry and let you in.

^We're in the same situation... we have regular park AP's and our HHN Frequent Fear pass.  We were told by multiple employees that you cannot get a wristband for early entry before 5:30 (actually, they say 6, but they started letting people in at 5:30) unless you have the Day/Night ticket.  So if you go in before then with your regular AP, you will have the exit the park and then re-enter for HHN.  It's considered a separately ticketed event.

On Friday they started wristbanding us at 5 p.m. and letting us through the gate. It also wasn't to the left it was to the right of the turnstiles near the old entrance to the amphitheater. And we were told Friday if we had an annual pass we could have gone in during the day and treated it like the day-night combo. Also, we didn't have front of line and I would not recommend going to the Metro sets first. I would recommend getting in line for The Exorcist getting that out of the way then going to the Metro sets having close to no wait for Krampus and Freddy vs. Jason and then sucking it up and getting in line for American Horror Story. We did it in that order and we made it into American Horror Story in 40 minutes. Get Exorcist out of the way first. And I thought the terror tram was a mess. And a few friends of mine who are scare actors on The Terror tram felt the same way. I've never been herded through like cattle the way I was on Friday. Standing about 6 people across and moving only inches at a time forward from the moment we exited the tram until we got back on the tram. I would have rather stayed in line longer for the tram then be crushed by people once we got off of it. Crowd management was not being handled well

Btw it's just HHNManics not HHNManiacs that was already taken. But yeah the small things this year really are amazing. Like the slow-mo "Mr Sandman", or the mini "Purge" Maze in Parsian Courtyard. It's stuff they didn't have to do but they did it any way so it gives a lot more respect to them. Also I'm still waiting on that Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood Soundtrack Album.

How do you guys think the lines are going to be in mid October when the general admission tickets are at their highest?

^ Typically the later in October it gets, the busier it gets.  This past Saturday night was probably a good indication of what it would look like for those sell-out days of the event.

Last night in a way was brutal by 9:40pm (Luckily we were done with Everything). Everything but TCM and Krampus had a over 100 Minute Wait Time. With "The Exorcist" having 175 Minute Wait and "Freddy Vs Jason" and "American Horror Story" both having 160 Minute Waits. I'm assuming by October "The Exorcist" is gonna start getting Over 200 Minute Wait Times every single night.

Did someone say slo-mo Mr Sandman? :D  (Appears at the end, I tried my best to recreate it. Also contains spoilers).

Horror Nights was great this year and opening night was a hit! Sad I didn't get to meet Evan Peters or Dennis O' Hare though. Here are my rankings:

1) Halloween: Hell Comes To Haddonfield

  • First maze my group went into and we exited loving every single bit we experienced.
  • This was the first maze in my 5 years going that made me scream and jump the most.
  • Unexpected ending that added new life into the maze.
  • Gorgeous set design that looks like it was pulled straight out of the movie.
  • Hot tub!

2) The Exorcist

  • Not as bad as everyone was saying it was.
  • Black hallways are actually scary in this maze.
  • First walkthrough, there was a cushion lying on the floor in one of the dark hallways and some of my friends thought it was a hand grabbing their legs. It was removed the second walkthrough, however.
  • Scariest characters in any maze.
  • One of my friend came out of the maze with a burn on his arm and it freaked him out.

3) Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Blood Brothers

  • Very fun maze.
  • Characters looked like they came straight out of the movies that you would believe that it was actually them scaring you (especially Chop-top).
  • Pro-tip: Cheer for grandpa or quote the scene when you get to the "one-hitter" room, it will delight Chop-top (or at least it did when we went through).
  • Some people in my group said it was the scariest.
  • Missed opportunity to make the tunnel look like the ones from "Texas Battle Land" in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, but it wasn't a big deal.
  • The only maze I couldn't record in.

4) Freddy vs. Jason

  • The ultimate fan service for Freddy and Jason fans.
  • Super happy they brought back the "rapture tunnel" from This is the End (although it wasn't the exact same one).
  • Surreal effects and environments.
  • Recognized some scares from AVP: Alien vs Predator.
  • Freddy won both times we went through.

5) Krampus

  • Had scenes that looked straight out of the movie, even the ones that weren't even in the movie.
  • "Rapture tunnel" was used again in a very clever way.
  • The snow and the facade is gorgeous.
  • Der Klown is super horrifying.
  • Focused more on the environment than the scares, which I liked because it was taking the same route the movie was.

6) American Horror Story

  • I didn't get a lot of scares in this one.
  • Also fan service for the AHS fandom.
  • Freakshow facade is stunning as well as the interior.
  • One of my friends, who attended EP night, told me Liz Taylor was in the maze, but she didn't appear at all in the Hotel section (apparently she was suppose to be in the hallway).
  • Only huge disappointment aside from not meeting Evan Peters was the fact that the Murder House tv screen wasn't working (I didn't have a problem with the facade).

7) Eli Roth presents: Terror Tram

  • Hollywood Harry!!!!!!
  • Crowd control was very bad and moving very slow.
  • The mini mazes are fantastic alongside the characters that go along with them.
  • The "flasher clown" was the most memorable thing from this attraction.
  • Only disappointment was that, although it was original and felt closer to the 2007-2011 Terror Trams than the ones we had the previous years, it still didn't feel exactly like the 2007-2010 Terror Trams. I don't know, I liked the realistic and creepy vibe the old ones had where the main villains are shown to be directly targeting you, directly communicating to you and your tram that they'll get you and there's no escape from it. I guess I'm really picky, but I still really enjoyed how this year's terror tram was played out.

8) The Walking Dead Attraction

  • It's the Walking Dead attraction.

Worked for me, but I think it's safe to assume that most nights this year will sell out.

I know in the queue they also played "Can the Circle Be Unbroken?", which is actually a very famous folk song.  It was written in 1097 and recorded by The Carter Family in 1935!

Super excited to be going this Friday! Anyone know if the park happens to have any Snapchat Geofilters like Orlando does? They look pretty neat.

Gonna chime in here with a mini-review. I went Saturday night and I got to do everything, but I'm only going to comment on somethings I found notable.

- First off, The Exorcist. My favorite maze of the night for me. All of the effects were working except for the spider walk in the first. Every single one of the scares in the hallways got me, and my friend and I were holding onto each other so tightly during the whole thing. The Regan masks were incredibly impressive and the demon was a lot of fun to see, too.

- Texas Chainsaw was my second favorite of the night. Extremely solid, and extremely scary.

- Jabbawockeez was SO MUCH FUN. I didn't mind the show last year, but the show this year has so much energy. Definitely worth a look if you get a chance.

- Terror Tram broke my heart. It's easily the best use of the Terror Tram since I started going to the event in 2011, but the crowds completely ruined it. They were just so terrible. It took us about 10-15 minutes for our tram to get down to the drop off point, and once we were off, the whole thing moved so sluggishly. The line they have you snake through before you get to the War of the Worlds is tedious, but it flowed, mostly. Halfway through the neighborhood, the whole thing came to a dead stop for ten minutes. It was so bad that guests in front of me that were terrified of the clowns when we first came to our stop just stopped giving a poop about the performers after a couple minutes because they were so annoyed. A friend who works at Universal told me they had 30 trams an hour going and will reduce that to 20 trams an hour this weekend, which should help.

- Krampus, I had bad luck with. Went through when it seemed like half the cast was switching out, because we ran into so many empty scare spots. This was disappointing because I heard from friends that this was their scariest maze.

-The Purge: Gauntlet of Fear was so much fun. Went through it right at opening and it was kinda neat, but a lot better when it's dark out. Loved seeing all the characters from the film and actually got a couple good scares.

-TWD Attraction is so much better during HHN. I got some good scares out of it just because I wasn't expecting so many extra Walkers. They really need to make this the standard version of the maze.
