I just don't see 5 houses on the backlot, they might as well make the entrance there

And would you argue that Universal Floridas HHN has most of the houses in the front (New York Street, Production Central and Rockit Plaza) is fine? Take for instance, last year the front end of USF had Five houses (FVJ, BC, Asylum, Monsters and AWIL).

It would be understandable to debate if USH had all the space it could possibly have. But the thing is, they need to figure out what can work in the end for space. And if having most of the houses in the back end is the way; there's no arguing.

I have no idea what the hell you're asking me. And what arguing I'm just saying I don't see it, I'd think there would be at least 2 on upper

I'm not sure how the two are comparable. Regardless if Florida has a concentration of mazes in the front, it's still located on theme park property. The backlot isn't theme park proper, and you're essentially talking a long detour to reach that portion of the event.

^^ There won't be two on the upper this year. Like Alex said, it comes down to a matter of what works best, and hopefully what make make for a more well rounded experience. if Uni dictates John can build there, i'm sure he won't pass up the opportunity to make tit so.

That would definitely be amazing to get that many mazes. If it comes at the expense of trams, I really find it to be no big loss. The walk to the backlot was never really too bad in my opinion. Now what I'm more curious about.. the lineup!! I'm really curious to see what the lineup will entail. Or when it'll be leaked like previous years! Love the mystery behind it, but equally would love to know what is expected to come.

Yeah a couple people here claim to know things, galindo said that there was 3-4 WB/New Line properties coming, so take that for what you will

^ The rumored line up/ my source mentioned it. Exorcist was one of those 3-4. We'll see what happens. I can definitely see the other two including FvJ and Conjuring.

Hmmm... interesting rumors. I'll definitely believe it when I see it. Honestly, considering what I have seen/experienced myself the past 2 years of HHN here... I'm not sure that much "quantity" is good when they can't provide the "quality". HHN must be getting an insanely huge budget (yay more plain back walls & more mannequins than ever before!) if I'm to believe we're getting 7 mazes (8 counting TWD), 2 shows & a "new" Terror Tram.

As for the Terror Tram... I'm curious what exactly Murdy has planned. In its current form, it is way too understaffed scareactor-wise, way too dark to see anything, and just isn't exactly fun and/or scary.

William said:
They could even build upon what they did in 2014 and turn that pathway from the Lower Lot to the Backlot into an official scarezone that connects to the smaller scarezone at the entrance to the metro sets. I know they threw in a few scare actors before to give guests a spook while they made their way back and forth, but I think it'd leave people with even more incentive to make the trek if they slapped a name on it and called it another scarezone.

Technically... "Route 666" (yes that was the unofficial "official" name, I worked the event that year as staff) did connect to the Metro sets SZ by the time it was all said and done. They didn't just add a few scareactors either. They actually went out of their way to add scenic detail & lighting too. They should've made it an official SZ from the start honestly. But both ends of the tunnel had a banner. There were zombies before, inside & after the tunnel. They added an ambulance and some other scenic details after the tunnel before KONG hill. They kept tweaking it each week though to add more.

In other news, Murdy hinted at FEMALE chainsaws for the event this year. It was in a twitter reply.

^ My original post was meant to be interpreted as 6-7 other mazes aside from TWDA, making 7-8 altogether.

You do bring a good point about quality and quantity. HHN is a hit or miss when it comes to that, hopefully the quantity this year doesn't interfere with their "quality", which while isn't terrible, I agree, could be better.

Yeah I'd prefer them to do 7 this year and go on to 8 next year if things go well. They should just ease into doing 7, especially since a lot of time is going to to getting the walking dead attraction up and running. Murdy says it's the best line up ever and they shouldn't waste it by trying to do too much

^TWD attraction has no affect on HHN. It is completely separate from the event since it will be a year round attraction. The only thing HHN related about it is they get to be lazy & count it as one of the mazes even though it will have been open 3 months before the event starts.

I know what you meant. And sure we had 7 mazes in 2014, but we also had no shows that year (yay for lame excuse about getting a 7th maze instead of a show that year even though that's not how the Force works... errr budget).. anyway. I just fear A LOT of blatant recycling of sets (Clowns 3D) and/or horrible maze layouts that end up with plain black hallways between scenes (AWIL). The excessive use of mannequins ....everywhere.

There is no reason why this event should not be as large as Orlando (although even they suffer from the lack of entertainment offerings outside of B&T).

When you say there no reason for Hollywood to be as large as Orlando, do you mean just in quantity

You need to re-read what I said carefully. I said there is no reason for Hollywood should NOT be as large as Orlando. As in, its been around long enough to find ways to offer 8 mazes, multiple SZs, (at least) 2 shows, etc... 2014 came close to being a where it needed to be, but lacked shows. So if we're looking at 7-8 mazes (counting TWD), 2 shows, Terror Tram & 4-5 SZs... then Hollywood has become like Orlando in regards to quantity. Quality could be better on both coasts, Orlando's quality is not perfect.

Oops I knew what you meant I just had a typo. Btw if we would be the same, we would need 9 houses, 5 scarezones, roaming hoards, 2 shows

i don't see 2 shows unless they finally decide to use water world again. Well eventually get to 9, we can have 5, they can put roaming hoardes in Springfield, and lower lot

This is the only thing that makes sense. We presumably lost the Parisian Courtyard, so that would leave The Walking Dead for the Upper Lot. We know that The Exorcist will be behind Revenge of the Mummy and that we have something in the Jurassic Park queue, which means the rest would have to be on the backlot. There isn't any more room (at least that they've utilized in the past) in the theme park sections.

Waterworld was utilized "in the past"...

Orlando might not have 9 houses this year due to the loss of the Disaster queue. And we had 2 shows last year during the "After Party" nights with the addition of "Academy of Villains" on the Lower Lot. We had the (daytime) vampire dancers in Springfield during the "After Party" nights as well, serving both as street entertainment every so often as well as scareactors.

They lost disaster, but they seemed to find another location, mainly rumored to be in the MIB queue. I don't count academy of villains a show, its more street entertainment. I know about the vampires, I don't know why you feel the need mention it. I wouldn't have suggested Springfield unless I knew they could put scareactors there

Academy of Villains definitely was more a show than street entertainment, its just that USH lacks stage venues outside of Castle Theatre to put them elsewhere (something I really wish the park would take into consideration when it comes to Lower Lot expansion).

And I mentioned the vampires because Springfield could easily be an official SZ location (even if it lacks sets)... Klownz... Clownz... Killer Karniez (I really shouldn't try to give murdy new Z names like that last one)
