Quick question, everyone.

I noticed on the Annual Passholder page, they heavily advertise that we can save up to $35 on select nights. It also says on peak days that we can save as little as $6. However, if you buy online, you save $30, bringing it down from $89 to $59.

So my question is, is the $35 off of the base price of $89 or the online price of $59? I've done this other years but doesn't have good recollection...

And for a couple of dates they were offering a $40.00 discount. Yesterday when I checked Sept. 23 had ticket prices at 49.99 with the AP discount.

That's super lame because that would mean the AP discount is only worth like $5 more and only on select nights. Why would I even use my pass to get $6 off on October 14th when I can just get the online discount for $30 off. Literally makes no sense...

BTW I checked today and September 23rd is now $35 off. I guess I was too late...

EDIT: It looks like the AP discount is always a little higher than the online one ($1 to $5). Makes me rethink my strategy of springing for the pass to save on HHN. Do passholders get discounts on multi-days? Or FOL? Or combo tickets? Or can they give their friends discounts like in Orlando?

I think you are very confused. Everybody gets the online discount. And yes your annual pass will get you a few dollars off more than the online discount so if the online discount is $30 off when you put in your path it may be that you get $33 off total. That is the way it is always been it's only been a few dollars off for passholders. It's never been worth it to buy an annual pass for the discount because it's just a few dollars. No discounts on front of line or multi-day passes. And yeah you can get tickets for the discount price for your friends if you're buying them for yourself too

On an unrelated note, I don't think anyone has brought this up yet: will they, once again, be getting rid of the trams to the Metro sets this year? The old FDTD space was used for tram loading last year, but that space will be taken by AHS this year. Unless they've found another spot for guests to board trams to go back to the Lower Lot, it looks like we'll be walking again.

I asked him but he hasn't answered. The FAQ says that the trams will take us to the backlot but I think that just applies to the terror tram and we will have to walk to the metro sets.

The details on the website don't really answer the question. It sounds like the description of terror tram. We really need answers on this.

Any tips for going on either the first or second Saturday? I'm getting the Front of Line ticket and going for early admission so I don't know if there will be a difference in the crowd levels. I'm wondering if it's best to go at least the second week so they can sort out any kinks they come across? Thanks in advance for your input!

I watched the ScareLA panel again this morning and I noticed that the scene where Regan walks down the stairs backwards wasn't mentioned. That's literally the only scene/imagery in the movie that sent chills down my spine and legit bothered me. If that's missing from the maze I am going to be horrrrrrribly disappointed.

I would recommend the day after opening because the opening day is pretty crowded but the day after is pretty good for crowds not too many. But you can go the week after, but I wouldn't recommend it because going the first week is truly a thing to brag about.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Well it looks like my pass will indeed pay for itself. Three of my friends each getting $5 will make it worth it. Score.

Anybody know about college discounts?

Super hyped for this year. I hope we do walk down to the Backlot, less waiting, and a kind of bonus scare zone.

Even if this year is a disappointment I will still love it. Getting too close for me not to geek out.

Technically it's not in the movie, it was a deleted scene iirc, might have been in the director's cut

That's a good recommendation. I am having a similar situation myself. Prior to the event I had wanted to go to the first three Thursdays of the event. One of the Thursdays I was anticipating was the 22nd. When I seen horror nights is not operating that day I had to change my plan. Now I am stuck between choosing the 13th of October on a Thursday or going on the 23rd of September on a Friday. I went last year opening night and by 10pm the event was packed. So I have a bit of fear of going Fridays. This year, I will have FOL for all the days I'm going but I do like to take advantage of the early entry and general lines before using my FOL pass. I would like to go in the beginning weeks of the event but I also want to go on a Thursday but I'm not too sure on going in the middle of the month. I feel there will be more people at the event. Any recommendations?

Ah, I only saw the version of the movie with that scene. If they're basing the maze off of the "banned" trailer. There should be no reason for it not to be in the maze because it is in my opinion one of the more memorable scenes.

True, and I completely agree that it should be in the maze. One of the main scenes I'm hoping for, and like you said it was a memorable image, I mean hell it was memorable enough to become an iconic scene and it's not even in the main cut

Most likely attending on Sept. 23rd or quite possibly opening day. I already suspect the 16th will be ridiculously crowded and unorganized, but what about the 23rd? Anyone have any idea of crowds and such on that day?

One of my visits last year was in September. The sun was still up at the time the early entry mazes started. I did the Walking Dead maze first, and there was lots of light leaking into the maze. Not ideal. I assume this is a problem for all the temporary mazes while the sun is still up. They're just not designed for the daytime. (The new permanent Walking Dead maze won't have this problem, of course.) I had to spend some time standing in the sun, too.

Oh, and it was hot!
