When do they usually start decorating the park for HHN? I can't remember how far out they start that.

After Labor Day, but I don't know when they'll start this year

If they started after Labor Day this year that would only give them about two weeks to get everything set up before opening night (hopefully they'd be done before employee preview) I'd think with the way John talked about the set pieces in the scarezone gauntlet they'd want to start sooner so I'd say last week of August sliding into the start September is hopefully when scarezone set dressing would begin

The houses seem slightly further along than usual to me at this point of the year.  Maybe those will be done earlier, allowing them to focus more attention to the scare zone and terror tram at once for a quicker "build".  Has anyone noticed any movement on the backlot for Terror Tram items?

I've noticed a lack of construction updates this year. How far along are the houses at this point? Last I saw was AHS didn't even have a facade, though the rest of them do seem pretty far along.

I've noticed a lack of construction updates because nobody makes videos about hhn anymore. Also I'm not sure Horror Story really going to have a facade after what Murdy what saying. 


I hope for once that everything is ready by opening night. It would be fantastic

I hope that something new is done for the gauntlet scarezone. Feel that the fire towers have kinda been played out too much now. Hopefully we get some completely new, interactive props, instead of static figures as usual.

The fire towers were boring the 3rd year they came back. Though I suspect something similar will reside in Universal Plaza.

The flame towers are here to stay for sure in the NY street scarezone. 


The scarezone gauntlet will have new set pieces and stuff as it is essentially an outdoors maze so the set pieces are for the actors to hide behind. It'll only be in the plaza, Parisian courtyard, and French street. The normal entrance scarezone with the flame towers and the gauntlet are two different things.

I believe Murdy did mention a queue of some sort but I can't find it on his Twitter feed...


The lack of a facade on AHS is concerning to me. That's the maze I'm most hyped for...


Speaking of which, do you guys think Murdy and his team will be able to juggle everything well this year? I feel like there are so many properties with huge fan bases this year. It's gonna tough to do all of the properties justice. 


Do you think there might be one maze this year that will feel a bit rushed or won't do the property justice?


This is the End felt this way for me last year, but then again it was such a strange choice it might have been forced by Universal or was a replacement for an idea that fell through...


I think John has got us this year. All of the fans tend to motivate him (This is the End didn't have many)...

Stranger Things would be AMAZING. There are a few people who turn it down since it's not "true" horror but then again This is the End was kinda stretching it as well.

The show itself is a tribute to 80's horror and sci-fi pop culture and for that reason alone, it'd be a cool maze.. Also, people have been recommending/requesting it to Murdy and Aiello for a while now

The entire maze will be just walls covered in pictures of Melisandre with her necklace off.

Never say never. I never saw us getting Exorcist anytime soon.
