Ronald McDonald's Cheesemurder would have been a better name than this. Even the plot sound ridiculous. Yeesh. So half-baked.

I remember back in 06-07 they had clowns in the Terror Tram, especially for Jack in 07, and it was a pretty unique blend with the idea. Then Saw's Terror Tram in 09 had Killer Clowns at the beginning, which sorta felt out of place, but I preferred it over having more Pigface minions with chainsaws, considering they had two large scare zones with those guys already. So I am interested with this year's version of the Terror Tram, especially with Eli Roth's style.

I know it may be just me, and I'm fully aware of all the hate that I'm about to receive; I think we're at a point to where if the Terror Tram gets cut, that may actually be for the best.

The Terror Tram, while yes; the premise was unique, the execution of it through the past few years has been at best, rather stale and repetitive for what it is, a glorified Scarezone. The Terror Tram to also point out; is that that while yes, it gets people away from the parks; it also kills a lot of time that they can offer to guests for other much more intriguing things for the event itself (like putting more effort into the detail of the Houses and Scarezones); and considering that the Metro Sets now take away that special touch that the Terror Tram had, it feels more to me that it should be on its last legs.

Perhap's that is just me, as even though it has been a staple at Horror Nights since 06, there have been no changes for it's route in the past few years. If they we're to relocate the tram to maybe someplace like Amity/Mexico/Western Sets, I would be much more forgiving than I am now; but I am just tired of the Terror Tram being very repetitive and taking away money that can be put somewhere better for the event, but that's just me..

Honestly it depends if they really go all out this year. Otherwise, I'd rather the area be used for maze space if possible

I'd rather want to see the quality of the mazes and Scarezones increase before they tackle the 7th house number again (and I'm not including TWDA).

I understand where you're coming from with this. These past few years, my friends and I have treated the Terror Tram as an attraction to do immediately when we first enter the park just to get it over with, without the eager anticipation we have for doing the mazes. The last Terror Tram I really loved was 2011; the following three years of Walking Dead trams weren't my cup of tea. Even last year's Purge tram, which I liked since it broke the WD chain, I still felt it was kinda lackluster, including my friends who went to HHN last year for the first time enjoyed everything except the tram. I also understand that despite my wishes of them utilizing NY sets and the other ones you've mentioned, they probably won't due to filming, just like how we lost 747 this year. If this year's tram ends up flopping, and it came down to the idea of them doing Terror Tram or investing more money into mazes/possibly adding more mazes, I would most likely want the second option. And going back to your comment of it being a "glorified Scarezone", I agree what with the whole Clown theme. If it wasn't for Eli Roth being involved with it, I would be sorta disappointed with it.

I wholeheartedly agree. I have been going for three years now and the Terror Tram is definitely the low point of my trips. The tram system is extremely slow and the area is far too big to be scary. Plus, they take the same route and even the same structures and merely repaint them... one year's Woodbury is another year's Purger area...

A new location to walk through would be nice, needless to say...

As half-baked as a McDonald's cheeseburger?

But seriously...I don't see why the Tram always gets some lame theme every year...either it's been done before or is an original idea that no one is really excited about...

Why can't we have a "best of horror movies" Terror Tram...it's on the actual Backlot. It could be like Orlando's Silver Scream maze in 2009. Each area gets its own IP that fits (i.e. the forest gets Friday the 13th or Tucker & Dale vs. Evil or Evil Dead). Seems like that would be a no-brainer especially with the event being so IP-heavy these days (which is why I go to the event to be honest)...

I actually agree with Alex and I've been saying this for years (on another forum). Terror Tram needs to go. It served its purpose for when the event started. It was a nice gimmick to really sell the event back in '06, but now the novelty is gone. Wears able to walk in the actual Metro sets where several major movies were filmed.

It needed to go years ago and be replaced by an extra house or two. As long as Murdy is in charge, he's not going to get rid of it because he thinks it's a "signature" at the event. :(

You could also argue that they can't get rid of it because of capacity, but it's going to get to a point to where the casual fans who will just go once will realize how much it sucks and just quit seeing it to hit up a ride or their favorite house again. When was the last time TT had a long wait? I would LOVE to see it replaced with another house.

Hopefully when WOTW is finally demolished for soundstages they'll finally trash it and just do a Nighttime Tram Tour with Kong/F&F and possibly a house in the tram area.

Terror Tram is absolute misery. A hike in the Hollywood Hills with a bunch of annoying teenagers and scareactors is not fun. I can't recall ever hearing anything good about it.

Last year, when they tried adding Fast and Furious to the Terror Tram. Wow, that was disaster!

It was one night where they added a Supercharged Express and the line direction was basically nonexistant. It was gone very quickly...

The tram, like scare zones, have the same obstacles: both are out in the open, both have large groups of people going through at a time which slim your chances of being targeted (unless you draw attention to yourself), both give people the ability to sort of run (unlike mazes that have you enclosed with a monster or psychopath), but terror tram employees will scold people who do run for safety reasons. But at least with scare zones you can go at your own pace in a sense, have a place to sit down and rest your legs, and not worry about just randomly stopping because of people ahead of you just stopping or waiting for a tram to pick you up. I mean the dirt trail part in between the Bates Motel and where they add make-shift sets is literally a waste of space with stereotypical monster-growl soundtracks and a couple of camouflage scareactors. That section always irks me since it ruins the atmosphere the theme is trying to display for the tram.

Have they stated how Platinum Passholders will get to redeem their free HHN ticket, and if it's transferable?

Yes, I remember being in the little circular plaza that leads to the bridge to the tram. There were no switchbacks setup there, and it was completely full of people, funneling into the very slow moving line on the bridge. It felt like it wouldn't take much for something terrible to happen. To the credit of the other people waiting in line, everyone seemed to be pretty well behaved.

No, not yet. Universal said they'll release more information as the event approaches.

I've been doing Halloween for about 11 years now. Not just halloween horror nights, but Halloween all over the world. I've acted, built, travelled, and conventioned anywhere and everywhere I can. Its the best holiday of the year, better than my birthday and Christmas put together. Trust me I have really great birthdays. I love it so much that I converted my wife like a religion. She understands me and my obsession like many in this world will never. I come to these forums because you guys seem to be able to find the stuff I can't or don't have the time to. The updates are always appreciated. The information immensely helpful. The pictures and video a great addition for me to get my daily halloween fix.

This year, as every other year with you guys, is much of the same yet different. This year we get the 4 big guys and exorcist. Now stopping right there, best year in HHN in maybe 5 or 6 years. Next we get Krampus, awesome, American Horror Story, awesome, and then there is TWD. Well we all know what this is. Its better than anther store and 3d ride.

For me all of this is amazing, and I know its the same for many of you. But some of you very active members seem to be hell bent on being overly negative. Guys, 25 years ago halloween was just for kids. Now, thanks to the haunted house industry, and a huge part of that is Universal, we get to enjoy it as adults in a very real way. We get to jump inside of horror movies and experience them in all of our own personal nightmares yet you guys seem to just want to find the negatives.

Bill and Ted are gone. I'm bummed out too. TWD sucks. Nuff said. Murdy enjoys a liberal use of dark hallways. Ok every great haunt designer I've ever met and worked with know the benefit of dark hallways (I've never worked with Murdy). jabbawockeez isn't what you quite wanted in your halloween entertainment lineup. Oh well. VIP passes are gone. Yup I'm pissed about that one too.

But on to the point. This whole business about the terror tram is what has pushed me to my limit with some of you guys. They created an original story, and are attempting to create an icon character for Hollywood in a clown character. I know the guy, I've seen the character, I think its interesting. The story isn't earth shattering gonna change your life but that kind of story happens once every 20 years. What more do you want? Oh we want more of the same. Oh no, we want something different. Oh no we want original ideas, oh they should use established IPs. Oh no why do they keep using the same story. Can't you guys get back to the point where this is all pure enjoyment? Can't you find the great atmosphere we will all be experiencing in just a hand full of weeks? We get to encounter monsters of icon, and monsters of new. We get to travel into the darkest parts of our minds to explore our deepest fears. Let that be the litmus test for what you say next. Would I enjoy this if I was (insert age of your first or favorite scare experience)?

There will always be ways to do things or ideas better. But don't ruin your own experience by going into it with a mindset of hating it before you even walk thru the door. We all want to have fun so lets do that. Keep up the great updates, you guys are awesome. Even you negative nellys.

As far as I remember; Murdy has said multiple times that he is not fond of having Icons for USH's HHN. I mean, when was the last time that an Icon has been at USH's HHN; 2009 with Jigsaw? My point is that while, "Yes; I would love to have Icons at the event.", it's not going to be possible until John and Chris leave the event and when a new and much more fresh individual takes the reigns, along with a new group within USH's HHN creative Team (and I'm not dissing on John and Chris here at all).

At no point during this year that he has said "The Terror Tram will house an Icon". Yes, it's the ONLY original concept (And as I am dismissing the IP's that are being creative..the Terror Tram still kind-of counts as an IP, due to the work being done with Eli) for this years event, but that doesn't automatically mean that it's home to an Icon of the event.

Although, that's just my thoughts..
