Keep it?

If I'm correct the HHN maze is just a redressing with lighting

I mean, I guess I should've said I'm worried about after HHN. I hope they save most of the stuff.

Man I really wish I could have been there today to close the attraction, but oh well.  Did the employees do anything special? (other than the "RIP" on the boards)

Lol, someone actually brought flowers.

I also love that the Studio Directory says R.I.P.  :(

This restaurant better be a worthy replacement for HOH.

Well now that House of Horrors is done and 28 is leaving, I think there's a big plan to give the monsters a bigger presence at the parks. Someone asked on John Murdy's Twitter how the plans were coming along to boost the monsters' presence. He replied with, "working on it". Sounds like the monsters will be back in a bigger way somehow.

Oh, and if next year is Murdy's last year for creative director, I REALLY want him to do that Usher maze that I heard we were supposed to get last year. I would love to see us walk through the Universal Palace Theater, walk through the theater where Julian was hung, the Frankenstein's lab with the sets from House of Horrors, and the Phantom of the Opera sets. They would need to find a stage with a lot of room to do it, but I hope Murdy does that before he leaves.

Great video, guys :) Funny seeing myself at the end for a sec.

It was a very bittersweet day. I wasn't the biggest fan of HoH but the whole time it felt like one big family and seeing every team member get super emotional and cry and hug all the monsters and everything felt kinda magical. They gave their all at this attraction. I loved going in with the final group which was just all Universal team members.

Also, Frankenstein let me know he's retiring and told me his vacation plans on camera in broken english. So hilarious. And Igor was kinda adorable for once hahaha.

Overall, it was a very bittersweet but fun day :)

Unfortunately, my last walkthrough was ruined by two teenage boys behind me who felt the need to jump around, push my group forward, grab my shoulders and back, and step on the back of my shoes to hide from the scare actors. Not the most enjoyable experience, but the scare actors were really giving it their all.

Let's just say I can't wait to walk through it again during HHN.

"Im sure there was supposed to be 2 chucky performers inside the late (Universal House Of Horros).''

The 1st chucky will unexpectley pop out by the compresed air chucky ... ( BOXES)

The 2nd will strike at you in a hole with the little stuff animals ...

"im sure there was a big lack on this, because everytime i would go inside the house of horrors,

there were only be 1 performer not 2 ? the only time i saw 2 chuckys was on HHN days...."

Well, two of the same character = spending more money. It also depended on when you would visit House of Horrors, sometimes there were more characters, sometimes less depending on the season, etc.

Obviously the actors who play Chucky are very short (sometimes even dwarfs), so casting a scareactor to play him isn't as easy as casting someone like the Phantom of the Opera who is a tall male. In all my times of going through this attraction, I don't think I've ever seen more than one Chucky - just one by the crates in the doll workshop or just one where the stuffed animals used to be (speaking of which, when did they get rid of the stuffed animals in that room?).

I didn't really find the latter scare to be frightening at all, actually. The former was a lot creepier because he would be able to follow you throughout the area.

I agree, the former was a lot scarier.

I saw two little people, both female, the final day who went through the maze a few times, especially the final time with all the Universal cast members, and I presumed they were previous Chuckies. Something that bothered me personally though, was as they were going through the queue of HoH, two ladies who were obviously tourists chased them down the queue and begged them for pictures and physically got in front of them for pictures. I thought it was ridiculously rude...

And distasteful.

A retail expansion is happening, but I'd be curious to see what they'll do with the entire venue. A small Horror Make-Up show perhaps?

Isn't there also a rumored dining aspect to take part of this footprint? Also, is this confirmed to be a single venue, or multiple?

I'd be very surprised if Hollywood Photoland makes it out of this intact.
