House of Horrors Replacement

I wonder if they'll just make it "generic" and just make it all Art Deco to blend in with the entrance plaza and Universal Plaza.

Not that I'd complain, I love the look of the Universal Plaza Tower.

I assumed from the start (when it was announced that HOH was closing) that this is what the exterior would be changed to.  It would certainly make sense!

However, if this is not going to be a big change to the existing buildings...then I don't see much change in design.  Amazing Pictures still screams of fast food venue and its poorly placed.  I would like to see a full demolish and rebuild and make it look spectacular as well as add street space.

I could still see the removal of the Blues Brothers stage as a possibility. I assume that there are no construction walls around it if we're discussing this as wishful thinking. Maybe come January they might do this since Grinchmas will be starting soon. They need to have the show where it is for the time-being until the festivities move out of there. They need to have some entertainment there with all of the construction going on.

It might be worthwhile to view the entire stretch lining the entrance, starting at the Universal Studio Store. If you view it from that perspective, there's a lot more potential to make the area more cohesive.

I would love for them to refresh and update the entrance plaza. It kinda feels old and worn out, despite being relatively new (90s).

I'd love for them to refresh it and make the entire entrance art deco and match with Universal Plaza, and not just plain Spanish.

Yeah...wow. so now guests will have to walk past not one but two shuttered buildings as they stretch out into the park?

I think we'll slowly but surely see most of the entrance start to hide behind construction walls or scrims. Just as Disneyland occasionally refreshes the Main Street facades, I think USH will start to do the same and do some superficial improvements. I'm excited

Question for the editors: what are we looking at time wise for the new HoH venue to open? Around the time Springfield opens? Before? After?

If the change over for HOH is minor, I would say Summer 2015. If this building is demolished, I would say Spring 2016.

Of course it'll be before Wizarding World, it's a relatively minor project in comparison to anything. It'd be nice to see it open before the major crowds come back in 2015.

I really hope it opens around the same time as Springfield. Our major loss of dining venues in the park needs to be replenished ASAP.

As far as Im aware, the italian place and the doc browns chicken closed right? Yeah, I know how much space we need for the dining venues, really fast too...

Simpsons Plaza contains absolutely no dining venues. Doc Brown's, Hollywood Cantina, and Cinnabon all closed just after Grinchmas 2013. Louie's and Ben & Jerry's just closed recently.

I'm more excited for the HOH replacement than Springfield, as I think the HoH replacement will have more things I like than the fast food in Springfield. It's not called Fast Food Boulevard in Florida for nothing haha.

I'm disappointed that HoH is still advertised on the park map as a current attraction. I don't care how far in advance park maps are done, I think its unacceptable to LIST it as an attraction. Like, ok, don't remove the facade from the map, but the old attraction description? Bad show...

To be fair, they put the word "Seasonal" under the attraction description. That's probably their excuse to keep it on the map until Grinchmas maps come in.
