You don't "launch faster than needed". All launch systems are created to launch within a particular speed range. It will never be the same speed each time, it's more of an average speed. Sometimes it may glitch and cause a rollback. This is why coasters weigh the train to see how much power it needs to launch it. I know when Carowinds was programing Copperhead Strike, they tested the launch at various weights of the train so it can be calculated what power would be needed when the train is empty vs half full vs full.
