That's the I-beam the crane goes on to load the coaster track where the switch will be.

Eh, I just came out of the board room and asked the question how we are going to re-track this ride like we did with Hulk (with all the rock-work and cages and stuff)...After they asked, why I didn't come up with that question before it got build, we now need an answer. Anyone has a good idea?

The same way Disneyland retracked Big Thunder Mountain?

I'm thinking about difficulty on a smaller scale:
When they complete the track and caging for the turn around the maintenance building, there will be no way to get a train off the track entirely, and no way to deliver new ones other than bring them in piece by piece. Unless I'm missing some other large entry to the maintenance building other than the one they're currently using that will eventually disappear.

I dont think it'll disappear, just get a garage door. And they could bring things in through it still? The cage is on raised platform. Probably will have access below to backstage path, no?

It's hard to tell, but from this perspective it looks like the system for picking up trains extends into the envelope of the cage.

But maybe there's room to snake freight under the cage and between the footers to get to this door.

I think they're probably leaving this last section empty for the sole purpose of ease of access to that door.
After the cage is up, combined with track footer placement I can only foresee one way in or out, and even still it's gonna be a TIGHT squeeze.

Yup, you are correct. Just looked into it, should be something like this:

accessmaintenance.jpg

Keep in mind these shots are extremely zoomed in and everything is probably a bit farther apart than it looks.

Besides Hulk, what are some other examples of coasters being completely retracked?

Don't say RMC, that's cheating

Big Thunder and Space Mountain in DL. The Big One at Blackpool was recently retracked in parts.
