Jurassic World VelociCoaster Construction Thread (Opening June 10)

This. I don’t think this is an attraction where a coherent narrative is a high priority. It’s a coaster through a raptor enclosure. Any story-based justification of WHY it’s a coaster through a raptor enclosure is never going to pass the sniff test.

Just enjoy it.

Oh I sure as hell will, Universal has typically (not F&F) had some sort of brief narrative, even if it’s a “Uh oh, what’s happening??” Story, which is what I’m expecting here

Hulk and Dueling Dragon’s stories have never been very clear. They’re paper thing and Barry make sense. I expect the same here

I think it will be some where between Hagrid’s and Hulk.

Most of the exposition will be explained on a monitor in the queue. I can’t remember if there is show scenes exactly or just another excuse to scare the riders.

Legitimately, the most logical story is, “We built a coaster in a raptor enclosure.” Have Claire talking about it being JW’s next-level of thrilling dino interactions. Have Owen talking about raptor behavioral science and how the raptors in this attraction are “trained” to not attack the cars.

Just make the “story” exactly what the attraction is with a thoroughly themed queue that supports the absurdity of the situation, and be done with it.

So it’s going to be JW themed for sure and not straddle the line between JP and JW?

Some of the theming style is straddling the line. The characters are all JW for sure... I mean, I expect Blue to be the star, as usual... at the VERY least.

Here is the story in a nutshell.

"Don't worry folks, your comfort and safety is in the hands of highly qualified teens like myself. We're required to take an extensive training course and not wear facial hair. Enjoy yourself but keep you arms and legs inside the ride vehicle at all times. And this time we really mean it!"

And Dr. Wu, talking about... more teeth?

I feel like Dr. Wu, as a character, would find shooting a safety video, or any acknowledgement of the general guests, beneath him.

But yeah, if he’s in it, he’s going to be talking the hard science of the dinosaurs.

The Dr. Wu I know LOVES tooting his own horn given the chance to talk about his favorite subject, himself... I mean, his scientific breakthroughs.

I had assumed this was Blue’s attraction. But idk about having other JW characters involved while the land is still JP.

It’s not like any of the JP characters are present in any “current” capacity. It’s not merging timelines.

Really like the old design aesthetically, but I'm much happier they went with top hat from a coaster perspective vs a huge stall.

It’s not like any of the JP characters are present in any “current” capacity. It’s not merging timelines.

It won’t diminish my enjoyment of the new attraction, but the JW characters don’t exist without the original Isla Nublar park. Technically, isnt’ IOA’s JP a different island (can’t find them name right now).

I’m more interested in seeing them blend this into JP without JW’s characters (leave it at Blue), or switch the land to JW.

Right. I know 99% of people won’t care about this, but the events that transpire in order to create JW haven’t happened at this park. A blue raptor can logically exist within Isla Adventura’s JP, but Blue, the raptor from JW, cannot.

At the end of JW 2, Blue runs off into the wild. Is there something that says he couldn't have ran to Orlando and got into the park?
