Wow, how do you know this? If the gates are real then a section of the monorail must be real too? I am surprised that you are a bit of a fan of JP!

Director tweeted it.

@TheHoyt08 The gate is practical, the environment isn't. That shot was made specifically for the trailer. The film will be different.

The director told people about the gates on Twitter. He's also confirmed the movie uses quite a bit of animatronics like the old ones.

Jurassic Park is easily one of my favorite films. Been waiting for this one a long time.

The only thing that disappointed me was the scene with the raptors and the bike. Not the CGI aspect of it, but storywise. Why would the raptors all of a sudden become "good guys" and team up with the humans? Of course, you can't judge a movie by a trailer, so I'm sure they'll explain it in a satisfying and realistic way....hopefully.

So, this scene was filmed in New Orleans?

I love the Oakley shop and the Buffet's Margaritaville in these shots.

Thats one of the scenes I worked on, (I was one of a team) babysitting hundreds of extras. The food at Margaritaville didn't taste too good though. haha.

For the first trailer, you've never seen finished CGI. CGI is worked on until the movie is shipped out.

Don't tell me what I've seen and haven't seen. Thanks.

Ah... I had not been following him. Thanks for the detail and info. As one of the few on this site that saw the original as an adult in 1993, it was overwhelming, it was impossible, it was the first time.

I cannot imagine any visual effect ever impacting the world as that film did. It changed everything.

He is right however.

This is common, it's happened with teasers for Jurassic World, Green Lantern, Guardians, Transformers 4, King Kong, etc.

Very easily.

In the first novel, Wu and Hammond argue about the dinosaurs. Wu wants to wipe the island clean and re-engineer the dinosaurs to be more docile/trainable in order to ensure guest and staff safety. Hammon, of course, does not. I imagine the new dinos will have been engineered to be easier to work with. On top of that, the Raptors have shown intelligence similar to dolphins and whales and such, which we all know are trainable.

IMO trained raptors and hybrid dinos are no more ridiculous than getting blood from mosquitos from millions of years ago and splicing frog DNA into it to make baby dinosaurs.

So is the shark eating dinosaur (the Mosasaur I believe it is) the same as the modified monster dino they talk about in the trailer? I figure they're different but that wasn't very clear. Also where is Tiffany when you need her? It wont be a JP film without the rexes!

Trailer looks good, some CGI needs work but it's the first trailer so I can't complain too much.

I don't need any reason other than Motorcycle gang comprised of Velociraptors buddies. The only way this scene could be better is if they were wearing those awesome helmets with the spikes on top.

I am shocked that I cannot find ONE picture of of them building and filming anything in the six flags parking area. Not even a distant photograph. Am I not searching correctly?

*strike that*

The trailer is laughable in my opinion. The dialogue and dramatic cuts are so textbook it looks like it was done to spoof other trailers. I'm not one to judge a movie by the preview but boy did that just reek of staleness and cliches.

Yeah....OK he is right.......he's seen every first movie trailer and in every one of them the special effects are not finished. I am blind......I don't know the difference between good CGI and bad CGI.....you happy? Good grief.......this place is becoming like Mice Age......is it OK if everyone has an opinion? I'm glad that y'all are now my eyes, ears and brain.......tell me what else I've seen over the years. I'm now questioning everything that I've seen, heard and done over the decades of my existence.

Good grief.......fan boys sure can be a PITA.
