^ Yeah, UC put out a very confusing missive yesterday to many involved in the project. It was a complete misunderstanding and yet freaked many "support people" out for a period of time. I believe that is where these ideas of a December opening are coming from.

That facade is going to be so huge... Having never seen it in person, it was only a week or so ago in a photo with a worker right at the top of it that I realised the true scale. Enormous!

Wow, this is very interesting. I just assumed that they would somehow link this movie with Godzilla for a future "vs" movie, but being set in 1971 makes me wonder how they could make this happen.

I would not expect Kong and Godzilla to ever share a movie again.

1) The new Godzilla would eat a traditionally sized Kong as a snack. The new Godzilla is over 300 ft tall, where King Kong, for a traditional-ish movie like this will be closer to 20-25 feet tall. The Toho King Kong in King Kong vs Godzilla was blown up to an incredible proportion for that movie, and he was only 120-ish feet tall. To make a new Kong movie that's in line with the original feel, which they're going for, I wouldn't expect Kong to be much more than 25 feet tall.

2) Toho is extremely protective of Godzilla. They wouldn't let Legendary use any of the other famous monsters until they proved they could make a movie that gave Godzilla the proper respect, which is why they had to use the MUTOs in the new film. I doubt they'd allow another King Kong vs Godzilla to happen.

FYI: That is rigid steel rebar, probably formed by machines controlled by cgi files. Possibly formed by Nassal's other facility dedicated to metal work.

I would say that the tarps are just temporarily there to protect the steel from something else that is going on. Perhaps the shotcrete that is coming to the rebar wall soon.

I marvel at the fact there hasn't been a widespread leak of info on this attraction yet -- especially at this point in the game, with the amount of people involved in construction, creative, safety, 3rd parties, etc. I know some of us have seen info privately, but it's still shocking it hasn't hit the interwebs at large. Bravo, Universal, I suppose!

Before I looked I asked myself why they weren't using rebar haha..From a distance it does resemble that though
