I kind of like seeing the tops of highly themed facades sticking up above the tree line in the distance. It draws you farther into the park.

Yup! It let's you know there is "more ahead" and it's exciting imo.

On the bright side, with you being able to see, you know something is back there so they could avoid the London person standing there yelling "Diagon Alley this way!"

Seth Kubersky just posted some new Kong construction photos on TP. He also said the Universal on site hotels are nearly completely booked for the weekend, and expecting larger crowds than forecast. Also said the collapsing ceiling & truck are missing from Disaster.

I think it is more likely they will tear it down soon; as in the whole building...

I know whatever replaces it will probably be great. But damn if I'm not going to miss Disaster a whole lot.

It was already the case during my trip early december. Sounds like it hasn't been fixed.

Take heart. I have no current or immediate info about the coming project, and no idea what the timeline is now.

It came back, then it broke again. That whole finale is on its last legs. Sad...

I'll miss Disaster too...it's classic Universal Studios and I hate to see that go away (which is a big reason why I love Twister and ET so much). But I guess I won't be too terribly devastated if they can come up with something worthy of a replacement. I'm happy that they're considering leveling all of San Fran as opposed to shoe-horning another attraction into the Diaster building (which is kind of a weird space to my eyes).

If they're not maintaining the attraction properly now that we're in refurb season, that is somewhat telling to me. I'm curious to know what the park is going to be like come October when I come down next for HHN 25...will there be new construction walls anywhere? We'll find out!

Diaster was one of my parent's favorite rides at UOR. I'll have to go on it a few times my next trip.

I like Disaster since it is old-school and has practical effects and one of the few remaining original rides (even if the pre-show has changed) but it is defintely showing its age, seems in rough shape, and I hate how long the whole ride takes. including pre-show it feels like you need to dedicate about 45 minutes to that ride, not counting waiting in line to get inside for pre-show. Some people may like that but it feels entirely too long. if I could skip the pre-show and get straight to the ride (with single rider or whatever) I'd do the attraction on visits a lot more than I do now, which is once if that.

Tearing down the whole building? Is it for the rumored F&F attraction? I'm eagerly hoping its not like the one proposed in Hollywood
