So (almost) everyone (in the know) is saying that Harry Potter at IOA is not going to expand ever?
The money cow that is driving sales for quite some years now will stay to only 1 themed street and no expansion?
Why?

The only thing I could possibly see happening is a Great Hall restaurant or a Fantastic Beasts ride, Potter is pretty much done IMO.

Um, HP is getting a huge expansion but it is in USF (with a train connecting). After that HP will take up more land than any other IP in the parks. Though it has been a huge success, they can not just duplicate it every few years. There is a point of diminishing returns.

Remember that they would be targeting the same group of people over and over again. So instead of milking a runaway hit till it's dry (and risking whats already ventured) it would be better to find the next runaway hit. Advertise to a new grouping of people and hopefully sell more tickets.

If 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' is a hit I could see it sparking a new HP expansion, perhaps themed to one of that films likely iconic locations. Magical 1940's New York could be cool, haha. But yeah, I think time could open new expansion opportunities for HP, so it is likely a wait and see type of thing.

Anyways, Kong.. I wonder if it will include Dinosaurs as well as Kong himself. I'm pretty curious to see what this ride/land will be like.

Reckon it will just use the same ride film as the one in California?

No, Or we hope it does not! There was already a run down of the ride posted somewhere on here.

There's supposed to be more dark ride elements added to the proposed attraction than just the film, meaning if the Florida version used the Hollywood film, it would still be unique enough. I would be willing to bet that it uses the same film as Hollywood. That would explain the idea to go out of their way to theme it around Skull Island rather than an existing Universal area which would contradict the Hollywood theme. It would also be a good cost-cutting measure in what is apparently a hugely-expensive attraction.

I was thinking the same thing. Ride in a boat with through sets and ending with the finale using the same film as California. Its why I was more excited about the possibility of the Disaster idea, since I would assume that one would have used a newly created film showing a Kong battle in the city, which in my opinion was the good part of the movie.

Not saying portions of Hollywoods ride film won't be used but I guarantee you WETA will be busy with new content...

It's been said before, but if you've been on USH's Kong 360 and seen the Kong IOA plans, you know they can't just reuse the film without re rendering. The USH film specifically depicts the USH studio tour tram (spoiler: you see a fake car pulled off your tram and fall into the abyss) so at a bare minimum they have to redo the film to match the new ride vehicle configuration. I suspect they'll change a lot more than that...

I know I have asked before, But I must ask again and again, any chance for an AA Kong? Maybe even his arm swinging towards our vehicle for a split second?

Good point. Also I'd imagine they'd want to incorporate some of the screens on kuka arm technology we're rumoured to be getting in Gringotts. That alone would demand large changes to the animated sequence.

This is good information, thanks. I have purposely NOT watched the Hollywood video because I didn't want any spoilers. Its good to know that it should be at least somewhat different.

Orlando Parks has some pictures today showing survey?, removal?, etc. markings on the ground and trees in the area of Jurassic Park that the rumored Kong attraction is targeted for .

Indeed they do; does that mean we could see some actual work happening in the near future?

I Don't need to see work to be done to get excited for this right now. What I need is

1 - An expected end date
2 - Art Work
3 - Kong AA's

anyone have any idea when we should be getting any of this and if a Kong AA is probable?

If this be true does it mean that work on Kong and JP will be running concurrently?

That would be a nice thing, and from the fact that both areas seem to have been marked simultaneously, it seems possible, though I'd imagine the Jurassic park expansion would be finished a while before the Kong mini-island is...
