Yeh, the ride is crap and the kong looks awefull but the potential in a showbuilding, the right effects, more life like aa and it could be awesome.

24 is that sad Disney thing, right?

If it was a Disney thing I'd be 24 years

I agree, getting this build in a year seems quite bit like wishful thinking. But if it is not opening next year, then what will we get next year (since apparently we are to get something new every year)?
Having this go open in 2016 alongside with whatever is planned for kidzone would be smart though, people will be even more likely to get a two park ticket and crowds will be spread throughout both parks.

I'm thinking disaster or something else. Do you guys think we will get a "attraction" like plaza or the Allah museum? If kong will take 2 years then I don't see anything THAT big coming out next year especially with potter making the big waves

Longer build time can only mean they're going bigger, better and more impressive. I'm happy to wait.

No... Longer build time can also mean that they are spreading their budget through more fiscal years.

While this is true, extending construction time just to spread out costs definitely hasn't been Universal's MO lately.

Think about it...Transformers took a year to build from the ground up. That was an impressive time span but it was a clone and is light on theming. Kong is original, meaning they dont know what theyre doing (as much) this time around, and it will be housed in more than just a gray warehouse. I think 24 months is still ridiculously quick, honestly. Nothing to complain about at all.

Nobody actually said 24 months, just the number 24. Let's wait and see.

I'd be more annoyed if it was anything less actually...as fun as Transformers is, it is just a clone in an underwhelming setting. Kong should be more than that and should take more time to complete IMO.

But youre right, we're arguing over something that could be taken way out of context

Transformers was also just an ugly warehouse. Not an epic jungle temple like HTF mentioned. Good things take time. I think anything less than a year is unrealistic if this is still as grand as expected.

I can't see Kong taking 24 months to build, especially when Diagon Alley only took a few months longer than that. Winter 2015 maybe?

While I think they could do Kong in a year..I don't think they plan too...I imagine next year construction in KZ, JP and some other upgrades around the park..plus Potter crowds flowing in..the next wave will hit in 2016 with a lul in 2015 as Potter and the other new attractions shine a bit..

I see this more than anything. But then again maybe the clue isn't for months at all, could he 24 days until they start foundation or 24 AA's as somebody mentioned above. You never know

Considering JP isn't getting anything substantial (jr. woodie, dino carousel, and Discovery Center dark ride with a couple scenes are the options we've heard about... although it could be something different), 2015 wouldn't be hard to reach

2016 will probably be the year Comcast lets everyone know Universal is a FAMILY destination (Kong isn't supposed to have a height requirement, and whatever replaces KidZone is likely to get an all-ages dark ride)

When Comcast mentioned a new attraction every year, didn't they say domestically meaning between Hollywood and Orlando? I mean there seems to be an expectation for a ride in Orlando every year while the statement could have meant they alternate between CA and FL each year?

Not to worry... most won't find it that interesting. It has nothing to do with AAs or height as some have asked in pvt. I'm gonna circle my plane for a few more days and then I will step out and kick the tires to see if it is ok to land... alright?

Well, we know what the "24" isn't referring to, then...
