Here's another random mini-photo update for Knotts featuring coaster p0rn...

I actually missed this pic in my album for the previous post, BUT Xcelerator also has a digital waittime sign!
1000043420.jpg

Coming soon to Pony Express!
1000043504.jpg
That safety guide on the wall still needs to relocate to the new sign, BUT at least there is a digital waittime sign on the way!

The ONLY major coasters left to receive a digital waittime sign are Coast Rider, Sierra Sidewinder, Jaguar &.... Montezooma o_O Hopefully they'll make the effort to add digital waittime signs to Rapids & Log Ride, as well as Beary Tales, Supreme Scream & Mine Ride due to their longer queue setups.

Speaking of Montezooma... the Jaguar tower got a new wrapping. The other spike is still "white tarp".
1000043332.jpg

1000043333.jpg
WIPEOUT is behind construction walls indefinitely. The ride is still in pieces & covered in black tarps.

The issue is, when the ride returned roughly over a year ago, the compressor they installed ended up crapping out & causing the ride to have issues. No timeline has been rumored for its possible return. Unfortunately.

Fiesta Village plushy

Here are 3 of the 6 Alebrijes plushies for Fiesta Village! These actually popped up a few months ago, just been too lazy to get the update (SORRY). I know during the holidays they had a deal where if you spent $30, you got one of these guys for FREE!! Not sure if that is still the case since i have yet to see a price for them. I do believe they have a plush for all 6 statues, but I have yet to see the Seahorse. Another thing I actually just noticed is each Alebrijes has a name & description of what they are. So I'll try to get an update of each plush tag.

In regards to Peanuts Celebration...

The event will once again ONLY be offered during the weekends, NOT the week days (Mon-Thurs). So the big new 75th anniversary show will only be available Friday-Sunday on the outdoor stage (god forbid they actually use their indoor theatre).

The only thing that will be available during the week are obviously the character meet-n-greets. (Not sure if Linus/Franklin's jamboree is a weekends only thing, but possible). Also not sure about the "sketch school" in birdcage, but pretty sure that MIGHT be weekends only too.

At this time, no word on whether or not the Camp Snoopy train will get its Peanuts Celebration overlay or not.

This is just depressing

I know we talked about this in the six flags thread but it’s a joke that knotts and six flags merged and the budget for things seems to go down

Mergers need to come with strings attached, like it’s fair the government is giving you the chance to make “less competition” but making two companies one…if you don’t spend more money afterwards investing in your product you should be fined. But that’s just me

Love the peanuts and hate to hear the company literally pulling the football up at the last second from fans

The one defense is they often use the Charles Schultz Theater for special events a lot in March & April (usually cheer/dance competitions, which brings the park a ton of money), so it isn't really available.

Except Peanuts Celebration is only this month to the beginning of March. Soooo... that weak excuse is weak.

I still say they need to gut Fridays (which is rarely ever open & apparently staffed by Knotts... so like Johnny Rockets in the park- it is "name only"). Due to it being next to the big Snoopy Store out front, they should redo it to be a Charles M Schultz history/Snoopy themed restaurant.

It'd be unique & exclusive to the park. Although, they need to redo the entire front area because anytime it rains, the ceilings leak inside the giftshops/Mrs Knotts restaurant. Buckets for water is apparently OSHA approved

Disney removes all Holiday stuff within 2 weeks or less...this includes HM and SM on normal years

I assume one theater should take a few days max with full effort. This is cost cutting to me

Also don't name a theater after someone if there IP which has help keep you float for a few weekends....or they could start moving the dance events to a week or two later

Also I appreciate you bringing this up and to me feels like Knotts/six Flags is just trying to cut costs

The theater is named as such because there is a year round affiliation with Peanuts... have we forgotten Camp Snoopy?

Also, I'd imagine Disney has way, way more staff to help clean up after events compared to Knotts.

If you didn't hear, the TGI Fridays is now permanently closed. It's still up on the park website (as of a few days ago), but if you look at Marketplace hours, it's been removed entirely. A lot of Fridays have closed, four in Vegas Casinos all closed on the same day just a few days ago.

Actually about over a year or so ago, they renamed it (again), this time to: Walter Knott Theatre

Just a heads up... all of the west half of Knotts has no power. So from Supreme Scream to Pony Express, nothing is open. Not restrooms or food. Although Log Ride, Panda express & funnel cakes have power

They had to cancel the Snoopy show on the big stage due to no power too

Some very...interesting takes here, ha.

I was at the park on Saturday and the power outage was pretty brutal, so I can't speak to how 90% of the event is as we left in the afternoon when the power was still down. One thing I've been saying that they really need to work on is expanding their food options for these types of events.

I would look at what Screamscape posted. They posted some very interesting stuff. They’re claiming that the e shipment of track and other vital parts will be shipped out soon for Monty, which would explain why there hasn’t been much movement. With that said, here’s what I really wanted to draw your attention to:

2027/2028 - New Roller Coaster - (2/23/2025) Early rumors are starting to swirl that Knott’s may be planning on adding their next big coaster in 2027, in order to get things up and running ahead of the 2028 Olympic Games, and spreading the project a year-aparts from 2026 when sister park, Six Flags Magic Mountain, is expected to open their next coaster, along with the opening of the Fast & Furious coaster at Universal Studios Hollywood.
The interesting thing is that there is a chance they could be looking into the concept of the long rumored Giga Coaster once again, possibly similar in concept to the basic layout and location of the one leaked out years ago.
It’s still way to early to call anything on this… and even I’m not convinced that Knott’s is truly ready to commit to something like a Giga, but since Los Angeles will be on display for a global audience to see in 2028, the timing would be perfect to see something like this in 2027 or 2028.

I am praying this will actually be it this time. How awesome would it be for both SFMM (If the rumor is true about a giga for the Olympics) and Knotts to get a giga! Perhaps the giga lives!

That would be a pleasant surprise if something actually happened with Monty lol.

Hyper would be great, but I'd happily settle for a Maverick style coaster. If Great America in San Jose closes at the end of this season (rumored), I wouldn't mind seeing Railblazer at Knotts though SFMM has a bigger one.

I wouldn’t hate that. I just don’t see them bringing that ride down here. Crazy it could be the first defunct RMC.

@Freak I agree, it wouldn't make business sense. Discovery Kingdom doesn't have one, so it would be a good addition and a much closer park for a relocation.

One mystery I wonder about, is what's going on with Mystery Lodge? It's been more than a while. I recall going to a haunt show there, well after it closed, it seems for good, but that's it's been deader than the Monty site for years.

Yeah, I wonder about Mystery Lodge as well. That certainly seems to have been forgotten about.

Crossing my fingers that rumor for Monte is true. It would make some sense as to why nothing's been happening lately, and the fact Knott's hasn't backed down from a 2025 opening yet. Given what I assume would be the ride's relatively small stature, maybe it could go up quickly.

And I still have a really hard time believing a giga would come to Knott's. It's just way to close to residential (and a senior living facility on the south... can't imagine they'd be happy with that) on two of it's four sides for a ride of that scale. Unless they either 1) find a way to have it cross the street to the Independence Hall area (which is a very underutilized area of the park... why they don't have more special events over there is beyond me), or find a new way to dampen the sound.

I’ll be third to say I hope they do something with Mystery Lodge soon. Either gut it and put a Vekoma Madhouse in there (My preference) or actually get it open again. It will have been closed for six years at this point, which is insane to me. I still keep thinking 2019 was only three years ago so this hurts lol

I know building a giga is going to be difficult for Knotts but let’s not forget: If they want something built badly enough they will find a way to make it work. If there’s any park that’s a testament to that, look no further than USH.

We always said a roller coaster could not be built because of the noise issues at USH. They found a way to make it happen! They use scream shields on Silver Star at Europa Park. I can imagine they’ll probably do the same if they build it.
