There is no timeframe on the LotR rumor. They are still in negotiations with the Tolkiem Family with some major hurdles yet to cross. This is still way in the cross your fingers and hope phase. There is as much chance that they will never come to an agreement as they are at inking a deal.

Maybe its because I personally haven't ever seen a LotR movie, but I just don't know how popular this would be!

Potter is different, many people aren't "into" Potter but everyone knows about him! I don't know what would be better but I'd like to see them give a good update to JP. Maybe i'll feel different after I watch one of the movies.

Well the WWoHP isn't even really about Harry Potter. The main area is Hogsmeade. And I know the ride features Harry Potter, but it's also mainly about the things he encounters. It's more popular than anything because it's just a must-see attraction. I have a feeling whatever Uni does in the future will be the exact same way.

More popular than Avatar, and I've been a supporter of the Avatar area. But LOTR could blow it away regarding merchandise and popularity.

^^Oh yeah, I totally agree that lands are based on more than one central character but I was just saying Potter instead of WWoHP :p

^Wow, where have I been?! Lol!

This LOTR stuff is spreading like wildfire. Saw another forum posted a link to this article that mentions this thread.

I've had friends not in the theme park loop on facebook throwing around a "news" link about it too.

You can tell that Andrew Sims is appreciative of OU's insiders, especially when he calls our content "mind-numbing".

Got to love the Disney fan boys in the comments. "Man, I really wish Disney would build it, not Universal. Universal builds everything too small. At least Disney invests in space." Yep so you would rather a single, lacklustre ride that is half the quality, but still decent, or a few ride of rides that push boundaries.

So, if this were to happen, is it likely Toon Lagoon will get cut from the park? It'd be a shame to lose Popeye and Dudley though...

Majorly different? Intersting... would it be going somewhere new (cast parking) or would it have to replace something else.. if it's even in IoA.

So is "Majorly" a play on words, like as in a new location along Major Blvd? :sneaky:

I can't believe how everyone is crediting "the site that SHALL NOT be named" as for discovering this info. OU discovered it first.
