Well…..the news could be worse. I’m not ecstatic about it, but there are worse decisions they could have done. I really wish they went for a Goofy Movie for the RnRC retheme though. Just….why not replace launch bay and keep the Muppets? Are they really this stingy on pinching for pennies?

If they close/retheme ToT though….Im DONE with this park.

It's just going to suck when Muppet Vision and Rock N Roller coaster have to be closed at the same time. The park is going to be a mess.

I was planning to spend a day at DHS next year in sept when I go to Epic Universe, but if both of these will be closed while I’m there I will not be going.

Also, the RNRC retheme has to be a pretty last minute decision for them not to announce at D23 right?

They didn't want to announce anything that would have implied what has happening to Muppet*Vision, because they knew the audience reaction wouldn't have been good.

Like @belloq87 said above paired with Disney loving to announce things early in the development. There was probably a significant push towards Animation Courtyard, but they realized how vital that area is just for one coaster. I have to imagine the Animation Courtyards plan are going to be at a far greater scale (hopefully when Phase 2 of this billion dollar investment is announced in 5 years).

Who here thinks part of the plan is to drop Muppet*Vision 3-D on Disney+?

Everyone is hating so hard on this and on me specifically today because I'm happy about it? My god. Let this 33 year old 3D movie rest in peace and let the Muppets enjoy their new ride, gift shop, etc. I'm more sad for Aerosmith than anything.

So reading through WDWMagic, apparently the next shoe to drop for DHS based on hints Len has dropped appears to be a new show or some form of new entertainment being added to the park. Some posters even think BATB might be replaced.

This trade works for me, with the obvious caveat that we’ll see what preserving the show actually looks like.

Because they are looking at probably saving it for a big IP that they have their eyes on.

Outside of the Villains show in Racing Academy, I wonder what else could they do for another show. Maybe a stunt show for Star Wars in Galaxy's Edge, using the expansion space?

Talking with friends on the matter of the trade, and as long as Muppetvision can be preserved in a way that keeps the show alive (be if it's in the parks, in a museum, or on D+); then I am perfectly happy with this.

At the end of the day, this will not be forcing us to lose capacity with the maintaining of the theater venue, and I think having a E-Ticket coaster on the North, East, and West edges of the park might actually help the flow out for the long run.

This sucks.... but at least the Muppets are staying in the park?

Edit: maybe they can put Muppet Vision in the Lightning McQueen Academy space or somewhere else. I don't think they're going to completely get rid of it at the parks, it'll probably return just in another area or maybe a different park like Magic Kingdom.

I love RNRC. It was my first real roller coaster. I'm also a huge fan of Aerosmith, so losing that portion of RNRC hurts. I think the retheme will be fun though.

Putting Muppet Vision in the Cars show space is a great idea. Gonna dive into a blue sky discussion but imagine turning RNRC, the Cars show, and the surrounding space into a new Muppets Courtyard?...

WDWMagic User Moth said this when another poster spectated on Zootopia being the IP that takes over AC:

"Mmm...Expansion plots."

To me that could be interpreted as a big hint Simpsons is being considering as the next IP for DHS post Monsters for the second half of the 10 year parks plan.

A 33-year-old 3D movie based on a then-20-year old IP spoofing concepts from the 1960s.

Big fan of the ride and the band, but read an actuarial table and it becomes clear we're approaching lotto odds than one of the guys in that backstage video hasn't succumbed to natural causes yet. The real shame is that arena rock died with Nirvana, so there's no longer a relevant real world band that can fill that spot. A little after my time, but Powerline could've worked, but this is an acceptable Band-aid until the track runs its course and they build something completely new.

The new RnRC pre-show better be animatronic Muppets interacting with video versions of whatever musicians they’re partnering with.

I need Floyd plucking out “Mr. Bass man” as you walk in.

Even if Tower of Terror stays the same next year, it’ll be rethemed eventually. Once this switch happens, it’ll be the only Disney ride standing that uses third-party IP. That means it’s days are numbered.

Said basically the same thing on BlueSky. This needs animatronic Muppets in the preshow and/or brake run area -- footage isn't going to cut it.
