It could also be that Spirit is being feed wrong information on purpose regarding Universal as he loves to brag about how Disney reads his thread to keep an eye on him. (that's what I would do if I worked for Comcast.)

Is spirit the one that works in the biz or is that whylightbulb? I get so confused as I am not a follower of that glittery happy magical site. I just peek at it WHEN THIS SITE ISN'T PUTTING OUT.

Whylightbulb. ...WDW Magic is a pure Disney site. It has a lot of interesting news but a very Disney biased site. There's a few people from this site that occasionally post there. I don't post there since generally if you say something pro Universal or question the great and wonderful Spirit, you're usually pounced on. They kind of delight when someone makes a statement that makes Universal look bad, even if there is no basis for that statement.

Yeah, some of them along with Martin and Lee have ridiculously good insights. The night I goaded Lee into proving that he knew the track design for Gringotts was a highlight, until he actually provided it. :blank:

(for you newbies, that was about 2 years ago.)

While Magic has a lot of straight up Disney fanbois, there are actually quite a few there that are avid Universal and themepark fans. I enjoy hearing both sides of the spectrum, and honestly I think fans of both companies can get caught up in whatever company it is they support and lose out on great stuff elsewhere.

I've always been a huge Disney fan, until 1998 when I finally visited Universal and was blown away. I then grew into theme parks all over America and realized that WDW isn't the best thing ever.
To this day I still rank the MK #1 in Orlando, but IOA and USF are #2 and #3.

As for waterparks, I'm probably one of the biggest Waterpark junkies out there and cannot wait for Universals first attempt to blow Disney's out of the water.

You've never liked Spirit, so you're pretty biased on this matter.

This post is a bit silly since i'd say the majority of the members that post in the news/rumors section (the only section worth reading) are turning against Disney and are very pro-Universal. Of course there is the occasional blind pixie duster, but that happens on any site that gets that large. Most just want the best for WDW, but know Universal is outdoing them in a major way right now.

I wouldn't doubt that a lot of what he says is him telling his tales to get people worked up, but I do believe within all of those tales, there is some level of truth. You just need to pick and choose carefully as to what you should believe.

Nope they are for Universal's monorail.

Comcast is going to buy Funspot and all land around it.
Theme it and add a few more Hotels.
Add few more levels to Parking Decks (it was designed so you can)
build up Wet and Wild's parking area (Hotel maybe)
All connected with monorails ,So Universal can keep folks on property for 4 days like Disney.

The above is all wishing by me and I have no inside info (other than what I read here)

From reading Spirit's new forum post it seems that nearly every reader that is commenting on his Universal post is taking his comment that Universal is slashing as the absolute truth. I would agree that more readers are finally questioning Disney's tactics, but as soon as they hear an expansion rumor (and there's rumors over there at WDW Magic quite often) the pixie dust flows again. Heh, I like Disney's parks myself, and I'll be there for 2 weeks next fall, but I have a problem with the posters that can't accept Universal as a equal or nearly equal competitor, and they are many. But WDW Magic does have interesting forums and a lot of contributors like Lee & Marni that are pretty good generally so I do enjoy reading. I think the posters on OU are more realistic in their viewpoints. Just my opinion though.

Listen, they're on a Disney forum because they love and many grew up with Disney, so obviously they want the parks to be the best they possibly can be. Who do you know that doesn't want the best for their favorite parks?

Spirit is stirring up trouble like usual and the dusters come out whenever he talks bad about Uni, but when the conversation isn't so influenced by a spirit, it seems that many over there have realized WDW has a lot of work to do.

Yes, I agree with what you are saying. That's the main point I was trying to make but I may have been a bit clumsy about it.

He's wrong and has attacked Sean, Mike, and mysef personally. As Sean said we listened till we had ample reason not to.

This isn't about overall site bias, both sides of the argument, or not liking someone. His info is bad.

Yeah, I just hopped over and peeked at one of his missives which begins with the statement, "Back after finally experiencing Diagon Alley (yes, loved it ... but, no, it isn't close to perfect).". With that, I turned around and left shaking my head.

If you kept reading, he did clarify and say that it's the best product built in Orlando in over a decade and that it is fantastic but not perfect. Not to add to the debate here, because I appreciate both sites. But I don't think his judgement is flawed enough to dismiss Diagon Alley as anything short of incredible.

Excellent point. He gets people fired up with his bad Universal info and believing that what he says is pure fact. He's better when he sticks to his Disney stuff.
