Alicia do you care to weigh in on the Pokemon going to KidZone rumors? No worries if you cant.

Only ever seen it speculated in articles. No credible source has told me anything about Pokemon going anywhere. We’ll see.

I will say about the 4th Park situation:

Jurassic Park The Ride was originally meant for USF, and was to go roughly where MiB is now. It was completely designed and plans drawn up for it to go there. Then the plans for an all cartoon based park next door sort of fell through so they decided to anchor the new park with JP.

What does this have to do with Nintendo? In the meantime, Jurassic Park the ride opens in Hollywood and it would be 3 years later before it opens with IOA. Moral of the story? I guess what I’m trying to say is that while our version of the ride is surrounded by better theming and more attractions, the ride itself is barely different from the original plans.

If you’re expecting Mario Kart or Donkey Kong to be plused because it’s going to a bigger park, you’re in for a rude awakening. Maybe some extra “attractions” and a bigger restaurant and maybe a nicer castle, but don’t expect the E tickets to evolve in any measurable way. Just expect to wait several more years.

Yea, I would expect the land itself to evolve, as Potter did elsewhere, but to expect the rides to change is dellusional

Also, if I can comment on the "Pokémon to KidZone" rumor:

I think it's wishful thinking, at least at this point. I think if SNW has moved to Park 3, we should expect KidZone to live out until at least 2020. I don't think it's a coincidence that as "Nintendo to Park 3" becomes more and more solid, the focus for 2020 seems to have moved to Jurassic Park.

I still think Ministry of Magic is coming to USF some time soon. Not to mention the potential Shrek replacement

that's true, i forgot about MoM, and hopefully they use the Shrek space in a way closer to the Hitchcock show more than like the two 3-D theatres Shrek uses :ack:

Nah. Another coaster to JP right after HP is more important. Don’t you know they’re in no hurry to actually use the huge franchises they acquired the rights to 3 years ago?

Again, something I’ve never heard from anyone credible. May just be the echo chamber of speculation. Who knows.

I feel like Shigeru's quote from a while back, comes to play, along with another; "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad." and the other quote being that all good things come to those who wait.

Super Nintendo World, from everything I have read, heard, and seen, will be the next step to Universal Parks and Resorts, on the level of Hogsmeade. But that patience is something that should be something that is accepted, as the last thing we would want, is the project being rushed.

If you are patient enough, you will be rewarded, as Super Nintendo World is quite unlike anything done previously in Universal Creative. And that it's even better if it goes to Gate 3, as you can market it as a headlining act, instead of being added into the currently existing park, which in turn, will bring audiences who can't travel all the way to Asia or California, and those who want to see Nintendo, but will also see new things as-well.

That mentality doesn’t work when the plans are already finalized and the exact same thing is already being built. You heard Alicia, nothing big, just a longer wait.

I agree. If anything, plans for Zelda to LC or Pokémon to KZ, if they're real things, are probably in their infancy

I'd call a bigger, better land that fixes any potential infrastructure and crowd control problems a huge upgrade.

From what I’ve seen nothing in the original plans was “rushed.” It was years of drafting, re-drafting, planning and if it’s good enough for the other two parks around the world, as is, there’s no reason to believe it’ll get much better when they eventually build it here.

Going back to my original story about JP, think of what changes we actually saw on River Adventure. What are the good changes? What are the bad? The Explorer was replaced with an empty crate falling because the Explorer effect was unreliable. Dilophosaurs were moved inside because skins in the sun weren’t holding up to well. Sure, we have more greenery. Yea we got a nice Visitor’s Center out of it, and our Nintendo may have a bigger castle when all is said and done... but at the end of the day, those E Ticket rides are already designed. And I don’t see them getting any better in any real ways.

Is it worth 3 extra years for better crowd flow? That’s up to you to decide. If this is the direction they’re going in, it’s a business decision to guarantee a good IP to anchor a new park.

Maybe if we saw the additional Jeep ride and Helicoptours open with IOA in 1999 I’d be singing a different song, but we all know how that turned out.

I agree with the majority of your post, but you gotta admit, the crate effect is WAY better.

Tell that to younger me that saw the explorer in a commercial for the ride on the JP VHS and could not wait to see it in person only to have it be a clearly empty crate falling two feet. Even if the effect is not great, losing the iconic Explorer from the ride was something I (clearly) never got over lol.
