MoistCritikal is absolutely going off about the Switch 2 prices on his YouTube. This is his second or third video ranting about the prices, each time getting 2+ million views.

I usually enjoy listening to his videos in the background, but honestly I think he’s kind of dragging this. I don’t really understand his frustration. The console itself is priced reasonably, and the games are for the most part priced the same as Sony and Microsoft. $70 for the big AAA first party games, less for smaller games.

Pretty much the only difference is that Nintendo is charging an extra 10 for the biggest once in a generation games that will probably continue to sell for 7+ years and won’t get sequels in this generation like Mario Kart. Which I mean, it’s kind of annoying, but I don’t think it warrants this nuclear storm of controversy.

I’m in the same boat as thinking the prices are fine except for Mario Kart which is why I’ll be trying to get the bundle. I’m still excited for the console as I think there are way more pros than cons for me but things like this are one of those cons.

Rumour: Zelda Breath of the Wild Switch 2 Edition doesn’t include Season Pass

A My Nintendo Store customer service representative has informed a fan on Reddit that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Nintendo Switch 2 Edition won’t include the downloadable content…

They really should include the DLC for people buying the full $70 Switch 2 version and not the upgrade pack.

Anyone else starting to get suspicious that Nintendo might be holding off preorders now to try to build up FOMO/impatience in order to counteract the bad press they’ve been getting?

I don't think they would do that, it would be putting retailers in a nightmare scenario. Given the incidents that have occurred with Pokémon card releases, I imagine things would get ugly very quickly...

Nintendo has been getting significant bad press in the last week, although it isn't a result of the tariff pre-order delay.

With the exemptions trump just made, I expect some movement in the pre order front.

In regards to nintendo bad press, we already know the GP or people who watch Ausmongold or whatever his name is will just agree with what he thinks is bad/good. Number 1 twitch streamer.

Gonna throw a thought out.

If the Switch 2 is fully tax exempt now, could price be lowered to 399/450 as a resultant (with 450 now being the price for the bundle)

It's pretty tough to deny that people are upset about the pricing. How much that will actually affect sales is yet to be seen. How far forward can the momentum from the Switch generation get them at these prices? I'm legitimately curious.

I watch Asmongold I think he’s hilarious lol

The only thing I’ve watched where he talks about the Switch 2 is his reaction and he never told people not to buy it.

If the games are good people will buy it. People are throwing around Xbox One comparisons forgetting it had no games to make it worth a damn over a PS4 in addition to the controversy.

The Switch 2 Direct was honestly really well-recieved, it was only when the pricing dropped later in the day that the tone changed. I think that initial enthusiasm could carry through.

Exactly my point. Whether rightly or wrongly people will pay $80 for Mario Kart World if it’s good.

People hated the Xbox One because it looked like a complete turd. People hate the Switch 2 because it looks great mostly but costs too much for games. Big difference between the two.

Just to update the exemptions from the tariffs do not include game consoles so, the tariffs still stand on this product

Strange as they were exempted last time. Hopefully this analyst is right so I can “save some money” and not pay a tariff induced price hike.

Yeah, at this point you're gonna' want to prepare for the price to go up just in case. Because there is ZERO certainty regarding the tariffs, and to be brutally honest I don't see that changing.

This is from the Presidents recent post stating the exemptions on electronics that were announced last week are not really exempted and whatnot.

It's just a continuous revolving door of tariff situations where nobody knows what is actually happening. And this is on top of a 90-day period where things can change again, and also change many times before we even get to the end of that period.

When there is zero certainty on any of these tariffs, it is nothing but a headache for a company like Nintendo on trying to figure out what the heck the price of their new console and games are going to be over here. There is no point in announcing a new price when the situation could change the very next day or so.

Well they have to do something because so far there’s no indication that they’ll delay the launch. If they become a bit more confident I wouldn’t be surprised if preorders open after the Mario Kart Direct.

Yeah this is pretty much where I am with the game prices. It seems very much like Nintendo is continuing what they did with the Switch so I know I’m going to enjoy them and I just have to bear with the price. Luckily the Switch 2 Editions of games I already own have the upgrade option.

Right here you see, ‘wow, that’s kind of a hefty price hike from Switch 1 to Switch 2 and, wow, 80 bucks for a game?’ But if it’s the only place where you can play Mario, then you get your wallet out and you buy into it… and Donkey Kong and Zelda. That first-party exclusivity kind of mitigates the sticker shock, if you will, of these price hikes, because you want that content so bad.
