I am goi g to Oogie Boogie Bash for the first time ever on Sep 24th! I’m stoked! Finally have some friends to go with. Anybody have any recommendations on how to approach the event or what I should do? Going in almost blind since I’ve never been and haven’t really done much research on the event.

The only thing I know for sure is Hit Villains Grove during the either parade

Also if your seeing the Parade the second one is less crowded

I also heard that the event hard stops at 11 PM for trails. Like even if your in line I hear if its big they will just clear it out, but others would need to comment on this last one being true or not

This is a pretty good video of the event

Looks like Villains Grove now opens at 8 PM. So you can still see the first parade and get on this pretty quickly if you really want

I went the first year (2019)... no desire to go again  I'm jaded, but you've been doing HHN for years, you should be fine going in blind. Here's what I can offer though:

Early entry check-in 3pm. Take advantage!!!
Event starts at 6pm & ends 11pm. ONLY 5hrs

Designate more time to getting the character photo-ops. Lines get long, especially for KingDom Hearts trio. Also some characters tend to share locations, so you might be in line for ____, but end up getting ____.

The other characters are found in the "treat trails", but they exist only for Disney to create hype. They're not "photo-op" characters & are on stages/platforms. Only downside.

They'll give you a "treat bag" for the treat trails, but you're better off buying that big vinyl tote bag they sell. You're going to end up with an obscene amount of candy!

Mickeys Halloween show is cute (might be able to see this during the 3-6pm time slot).

Parade is fun, watch it.
If you find a spot near a popular character photo-op (kingdom hearts?) on the parade route, take that spot so after the parade you can be one of the first in line. Or a spot that allows you to zip over to Villains Grove after the parade & enter without a wait.

Villains Grove is overrated hype. Not something Disney should be praised for. Its just redwood creek with xmas lights, fog & projections. Definitely try to hit it when there is no line.

Skip the rides except: Guardians, Mators, Luigis(?) since they've got the Halloween overlay!

Don't forget the themed spooky noms, especially if they're event exclusive.

Yea it's literally the most popular photo-op. Curious to know what time people started lining up.

I still think it's lame that Oogie Boogie doesn't have a photo-op for his own even. They could do it Mickey-style where he rotates out with himself. It's like going to Disney & not being able to get a pic with Mickey!

I thought Minnie and the other gals dressed as the Sanderson sisters had the longest line?

Before their debut, Kingdom Hearts was the popular characters. But yes, they're also very popular.

Speaking of the Sanderson Sisters, I've always felt it was such a missed opportunity to not bring the "Hocus Pocus Spelltacular" show to the west coast. Rather than just be an Oogie Boogie Bash exclusive, have it available for daytime guests. They could EASILY put it in Hyperion Theatre OR use the Fantasyland stage.
/End rant

Went to Oogie Boogie Bash for the first time last night!

I really enjoyed the interactive characters for the treat trails. Speaking of treats, I made out like a bandit last night! Just disappointed there were no Resee's cups or Crunch bars. Candy selection is fine though. I hit up the trails I really wanted to do (Judge Doom, Dr Whathisname from Phineas and Ferb [NIGHTMARE FUEL!!!!], and of course Oogie Boogie). Judge Doom was my favorite trail. I was wearing the button up shirt Hopper wore from Stranger Things season 2 and Judge Doom pointed at me and said "What's that outfit? I've seen salads dressed better then you!" Kinda sad when Disney villains aren't afraid to roast you but Chucky at HHN can't. Oh, and Villain's trail was kinda cool. Just wish there were some actual actors to interact with you.

I went with a group of friends and had a good time. We saw the parade which was cool. I'm not much of a parade person but it was kind of neat. We only had time for two rides which were Guardians and Incredicoaster....the only two rides I really wanted to do anyway. It was great to be back on Monsters After Dark as I haven't been on it since 2017!

Overall, while I had a good time, I just don't know if I can justify the $150 cost to do it again. Frankly, if I'm gonna drop that much money again, I would rather just do a full regular Disney day. It was cool to check it out though!

This was my first year going

I think its worth it because I was always doing something...only downtime I had was waiting 20 mins for the parade but besides that I was just hitting something and still needed more time to do a few little things I missed out on

This event needs to be until midnight, there is too much to do for 4 hours and they are sending out surveys to people like 5 Fives asking if they want a Sanderson Sister show or a Nightmare show...cool do it but they need to add more time to the event

I loved this event but hopefully they've worked out some of the kinks since I did it 2 years ago. It was a huge line to enter, a huge line for your bag/wristband, a huge line for the first treat trail, a huge line for Villains Grove...

It seemed like a mess compared to the regular Halloween Parties but then it seemed to get its groove later in the night as people disperse into different areas of the park.

Best time to hit the Grove is during the end of the first parade (walked on it twice) and the second parade

The lines were bad the first year in 2019, so not surprised that aspect hasn't changed too much.

Although, entering the park wasn't bad, but I made sure to enter as early as possible (which at the time I don't think was as early as it is now).

Flew over from Orlando this morning in the nick of time! Going tonight. Other than getting in at 4 and queuing for oogie boogie first and doing the villians trail right after the first parade, any other tips?
