Does anyone know if the Metro trams will be possible/ continue with the overhaul? Huge bummer if they are removed completely.

I can't think of a reason they wouldn't be able to continue. I imagine they'll still drop off outside the security perimeter, right?

I'd presume the plan will be to relocate the drop off and pick up for the Metro shuttle to be closer towards that of the Central Security Hub. Doubt they'd remove that.

Yea. They'd get so much backlash if people had to hike up the Universal hill of doom! It's kind of a necessary service to provide.

With these impending security check points, that means the ones in front of the park entrance/globe will be removed?

Yup--Plan will be once complete (which I imagine should be 2026 like how it was ready for Potter [but in this case for Fast]), the old security will be knocked down.

I'm curious how this will affect the emergency access gate next to Minions/PETS if they're supposed to be installing a security check from Frankenstein Garage/escalators.

I miss the old drop-off hub by the iconic neon Universal Hollywood sign/fountain. It's in such a terrible spot being right at the park exit.

Universal Studios Hollywood security bubble will expand to include CityWalk

New security screening checkpoints will be built at the perimeter of the outdoor mall and near the parking structures.
www.dailynews.com www.dailynews.com

Brady Macdonald from the LA Daily News covered the news on the new security bubble. While most of the article goes into stuff previously covered back in January, December, and November; this marks the first time USH has been public in the matter of the security project.

Probably wouldn't have been in favor of this earlier, but I am now old enough to hate teenagers.

i wonder why they haven’t started work on the West hub at Frankenstein. Off-season being now a factor id like to think they would need to start on that one sooner than later due to the larger grading and landmass shifting.

From @ethanuniversal--progress continues on that of the Central Security Hub, with ground being dug out for the project as a whole.

DP from @ethanuniversal but it seems they have now properly filled the hole that was left by that of the machinery and assets from IFly on the Eastern Security Hub side.

Construction walls are now present inside Curious George as they begin the process of partial tear-down for the One Way entrance into CityWalk Hollywood. This one-way will act for that of those who go and park at Curious George or ET.

Once again, as per what I had heard as a result of them making the bubble; the plan is that the current entrances/exits will be reconfigured to be one-way exits. Whether that remains to be seen is another element, but I doubt they will change that plan.

EDIT: from the IU team further~

From @ethanuniversal--a few things of note:

  • A section near the Central Security Hub that is the closest to Jurassic has been sectioned off with fencing; and a large dirt mound that is continuing to pile as they continue grading elements
  • A large amount of pavers is now ready over by the Eastern Security Hub, much more than that of the Central Security Hub. Might be indicative that this might be the first of the three done.
Nothing yet on the Western Hub, but I imagine when it does; the hotel announcement won't be far behind.

Speculating but I wonder depending on the direction of theming; how all three security hubs will appear. I can see the Western Security Hub mimic that of the USH gate; with art deco/classical architecture; with the Central Security Hub more indicative of the modern elements from the security redo down by the road. The Eastern one kind of puzzles me though.

Universal Studios Hollywood has officially begun the One-Way Security Entrance/Exit strategy; having the process begin with Jurassic Parking before going to the others.

EDIT: Have been informed for the sake of today--this is only affecting Jurassic and will not continue tomorrow. I do however imagine they will be preparing and training security members on how things will be going on over the course of the summer (that was my bad for jumping to the instant thought).
