Hey now, lets not encourage them to remove 3 small rides for one larger ride. Now if you want to relocate those 3 rides, then sure. But the park needs all the rides it can get without removing a few to add one.
Perhaps it could be three attractions, with Searider replacing the three flats and two attractions at the expansion plot, that are layered to two floors (similar to Pandora)? It's worth thought, especially as it sounds like the middle of the Screamin Helix is finally getting a proper attention at that location.Hey now, lets not encourage them to remove 3 small rides for one larger ride. Replacing 3 rides with 3 rides keeps the ride count the same, or replacing 3 rides with one ride that has a massive queue... doesn't matter. Its all about making the ride count go up... the more rides there are, the longer the people will stay in the park, the longer they stay in the park, the more money people will spend. "ITS THE CIRCLE OF LIFE... AND IT MOVES US ALL..."
While the park needs more big rides, it also needs the small flat rides to balance it out. You can't expect people to just waste their time in line for one big ride like SeaRider when they can do a lot more in the park.
Exactly, ride count doesn't matter. Quality over quantity. I'd much rather a good dark ride with close to 2,000/hr capacity than a bunch of flats that have horrible capacity. In the case of DCA, It doesn't matter. The park is jammed with flat rides and big rides. Pixar Pier is also expected to get at least 2 new rides in the future. If ride count did matter, DLR would have higher attendance than MK and DHS. But it doesn't.
From what I've heard... expect it to happen in the very near future. Allegedly, once Star Wars Land opens, Tomorrowland would go down for a huge renovation in time for one of the Disney parks big anniversaries. Of course I'll believe it when I see it & am taking the rumor with a huge grain of salt.
No, post-SWL is currently a Fantasyland redo/expansion at the moment. Tomorrowland will likely be renovated at this point in the late 2020s.
Work on the pier has started.
Screamin will most likely close in January for a July open as the Dash coaster.
Heard that the side facing the walkway will have the Luxo ball while the side facing the bay would retain the Mickey face!
If they really change this into Pixar Pier, they better bring Monster's Inc and Toy Story Land into the park. That's the only thing that would make this transformation slightly worth it
Oh sorry, I've never been thereMonster's Inc and Toy Story are already in DCA, and that Toy Story is already right next to what is happening; with Midway Mania.
