No one is entitled to anything even once in the gates. They got on the ride, which in and of itself is a hard thing to accomplish right now. I know the full experience is where it’s at and what adds to the immersion, but either way, they got to ride it which is more than tens of thousands of others can say on a daily basis.

There is no excuse for the park to be cheap and not run the whole thing besides safety or technical difficulties.

Cedar Point runs runs dragster hours after close and they cost a lot less money.

There's nothing saying that maybe there WASN'T a technical difficulty. Like maybe the Transport was down at the time.

Got here at 7:30ish, stood in line for Toy Story Land, got boarding group 52. Ended up going at 1ish and got all the way to the First Order area before it went down. Gave us fast pass, and waiting for it to come back up.

You know, given the comments by Disney's CEO that slighted Hagrid's ten hour waits, Rise is basically doing the same thing. Sure, once you are in a boarding group, you can go enjoy other rides/parks and that is really nice. However, they still have a wildly popular ride with normal growing pains and long waits. Hagrids remains very popular and its waits have become much more manageable (with the exception of the day I was there, apparently). Due to FP+, I figure that RotR will always have a stand-by line that will remain two to three hours long and the FP+ will be difficult to secure.

Yes....and at least the outdoor's ride, Hagrid's, had an excuse of a wetter than normal summer being a large part of it's downtime.

The thing is, the stand-by queue for ROTR is only about 60-90 minutes worth of queue. This ride will always have a line pouring out into the main paths once they start stand by.

That just doesn't sound well thought out but maybe I'm missing something. Flight of Passage at least has a queue that can handle a two hour standby crowd. Why wouldn't they create a queue for Rise that rivaled Flight, knowing that it would be a marquee attraction?

I thought that the queue for Rise was pretty bad. And at times it felt downright claustrophobic! I understand that most of the money and effort went into the ride experience but look at Indiana Jones out at DL.....or as you mentioned, Flight of Passage.

Yeah but um.. in the most ideal situation possible if you ask me. I'll wait riding other rides, watching shows, hell.. drinking around the world at Epcot then actually standing for hours on end for an unreliable ride experience like Hagrid's. I know some of you prefer to just wait. Trust me. You are the minority.

Yes, but the trouble at DHS is that fastpasses for the decent rides disappear before the day starts and then the standby lines get ridiculously long (like 2 hrs.), especially when RotR breaks down. So all you can really do are the shows, and walk around the park aimlessly. That just happened to us on a midweek day in January. . At least at IOA there's plenty of rides and the ride standby lines didn't get bad when Hagrids opened.

Yup, which is why many are also opting for the Skyliner to Epcot. Regardless, it beats not knowing if the ride is opening with the park, being stuck in line, barely moving, hearing technical difficulty announcements, etc.

I do love the Skyliner. It's an attraction with great capacity, and more fun than some of the rides. It really makes it easy to move between parks. One of Disney's best moves.

You don’t want people peeing in the caves.

Hoping with the opening of Mickey, the crowds will start to disperse that way. In the meantime more attractions are needed...per usual.

I like the idea of escaping from Disney Studios to Epcot while you wait for your boarding group...but not everyone buys park hoppers or has season passes. In fact I'd wager the majority of people don't.

I considered it, but no way in hell am I paying $60 dollars for a park hopper on a one-day ticket

thinking of a 2 day November trip at this point...I wonder if the bugs will be worked out by then.
I may buy a park hopper in the off chance I miss the boarding group...I would then go to another park, and try again on day 2.

That was my conundrum last week while at WDW and I chose to not buy a park hopper or try for Rise. Plus, I am not an early riser on vacation and didn't want to get up at 6:30 AM just to get a boarding group. So, we skipped it. I will eventually ride it but probably not this year. Plus, as I mentioned before, I fight a little anxiety when "trapped" on a ride (ex. When The Beast broke down while I was at the top of the second lift hill. Not scared of heights but did not like being unable to leave). So, waiting until the ride is a little more reliable is a better option. I recognize that any ride can break down but I have more confidence in riding Pirates of the Caribbean than a brand new ride.

Well, Rise does have restrooms mid-queue. Apparently, you are taken to a backstage area if I understood it correctly. I'm not sure that I want resistance personnel escorting me.
