I'm sure i'll barely notice it in person, but the color of that roof is a bit much from the picture.

I think it looks nice in person. The blue roof reminds me of the blue waters and skies in the Caribbean. I'm just not feeling the orange.

It looks better in person, but if you're not a fan of Jamaican/Caribbean type color schemes it won't do much for you.

I wonder why they only went with 1,000 rooms on this instead of more?

Because UC doesn't want it to become Japan. No skyscrapers... that is why. It would intrude on the parks and dwarf VB. Even Disney doesn't pull that with their resort hotels.

Not necessarily skyscrapers. I get that. That is why the two twin 16 story original hotels weren't constructed. I mean It and Cabana Bay Basically take up same plot size but Cabana has 800 more rooms. Maybe they wanted to keep whatever Category Sapphire is from having too large of a capacity for that lot?

Room sizes are bigger for one, which means less rooms.

But half of Sapphires land is the retention pond and convention space. Plus since they will likely put a mega resort at WnW I' sure they aren't worried about having enough hotel rooms.

Oh yeah the convention space would make since why they choose to keep it manageable. I remember there were unaccredited rumors about a 5th Hotel South of where Sapphire is now, whic is why I was curious to why They just didnt build Sapphire with more rooms. Convention Space is a huge way to make money in Orlando.

Take it easy. I was just being light and fluffy with yap and opinion. It doesn't mean I am right, but just opinionated. ;)

I completely forgot how intense foliage looks just before a storm in Florida. It is a completely different look than up north. I didn't learn to love the look down there enough. This picture tells the story perfectly.

Two months from opening and it seems that there is still a lot that needs to be done. Bet they're paying a boatload of overtime right now.

Agreed. When we were walking back to CBBR from CitiWalk early last week on two occasions at around 1:30 AM, there were numerous work crews & heavy equipment working everywhere on the Sapphire property. It's gonna be close.

I feel like someone has misunderstood what color "Sapphire" is.

Yeah, that ocean blue and bright Orange colors are just not my cup of tea - surprisingly garish for what they are considering a higher tiered hotel than Cabana Bay. I'm sure the rooms are nice, but i'd rather stay at the Bae than look at that mess.

I understand that the colors are a little vibrant, but It's Caribbean themed! After browsing several images of Caribbean architecture they honestly went very understated with the color scheme. I really like all the splashes of color but everyone has different tastes I guess.

Like I said, just not my cup of tea. I do get that it's Caribbean themed though. I've been to the Caribbean many times, I almost think had they gone more authentic I would have liked it more.
