I would guess Stu and Roman are in it because either the killer is using the past killers to taunt Sidney with some sort of technology akin to Roman's changing voice module in 3 or the killer's motivation is going to revolve around Sidney's mom and have some connect to Stu/Roman/Billy.

The supposed plot sounds messy too.

A 10-15 year time jump after VI, with the Meeks twins as the opening kill.

Two different storylines, one focusing on Sydney, her husband and Gale, the other focusing on Sydney's kids and their friend group, with both groups being targeted by different Ghostfaces.

i actually like that a lot. won't be boring if that much is going on.
could end up being like pulp fiction or trick or treat in structure. that actually made me excited.
the last 2 were pretty boring

That sounds really interesting and could be a lot of fun. Especially if the film centers around the thought that they're happening concurrently yet there's a twist that they're not (i.e. whoever is targeting Sid is the reason her kids and their friends are being targeted).

It's a gimmick but one that could be interesting in a slasher film!

there are so many ways it can go. I'm really excited. it can go so many directions. and I do agree with the writers that it is good to move away from 5 and 6 ( regardless of controversy)

I honestly would love it if the franchise moved away from the entire Prescott universe entirely.

Ghostface is such an amazing villain to tell any kind of motivated slasher story so the idea that it NEEDS to center around Sidney or someone tangentially related to her has baffled me since like the third film, regardless of whether or not I enjoyed them.

yeah and since the stab movie exists in the universe then anyone can be obsessed about it or inspired by it .
it's kinda like what they tried to do with SPIRAL BOOK OF SAW where someone else was inspired by jigsaw.

I'm just glad this series ended at Scream 6 for me. We did not need 7 movies... anything beyond 7 is just ridiculous.

The original MTV series, while completely disconnected from everything else, is surprisingly really good.

Resurrection on the other hand... some good kills, but that's all it has going for it. Absolutely terrible.

The first season of that SCREAM show was solid.

The second was terrible, and I never saw the rest!

MTVs scream was great for what it was- both seasons. Especially since they had plenty of references from the films (some easily missed).

We were robbed of a proper continuation.

The 3rd season on VH1(?) was complete crap. I only vaguely remember it's existence due to Teen Wolf's Tyler Posey being cast in it.

Every time I see something new in this thread I just groan to myself and think “alright what dead character is coming back now”. Finding out there’s an alternate universe where we could've had dempsey back stings a lot though.

this franchise should have gone the paranormal route and just have ghosts. I'm not even joking. that's basically... basically what the last two Scream movies did... they kind of almost made it into a ghost talking to a character...
reminds me of when Rick Grimes was seeing and hearing dead characters in walking dead, might as well just make them ghosts.

If you don't care for the movie, why bother checking the topic every time it has a new post then?

I try to never care much about things I have no interest in. Why it's almost a human condition to be attracted to the negative has always puzzled me.

It’s easier to be a hater! That’s why I don’t come here. Nothing I need to say if I’m not gonna watch.
