I was 33 when Space Jam came out. I don't remember it being some huge cultural thing. Mostly it just being called a bad Roger Rabbit rip off.

I was around ten and it was a fun time...its a cheesy fun film. Roger Rabbit for sure is on another level

I was thinking this could be another fun film...but really who knows.Trailers will help set expectations

This is...something. Don't exactly have a solid feeling about it, but it's a thing.

The shot with every WB IP under the sun in it reminded me of SCOOB! and how they messed up that film pushing that type of inter-connected universe stuff. As synergy it's just shameless.

I looks like it'll be a turn off your brain fun movie and I know kids will absolutely love it, which is really all that matters. I'm gonna watch it, but as a fan original, I just am not feeling that Wreck-it Ralph/Ready Player One world they're in.

You know, that sterile 2D animation had me worried, but you know I'm gonna show up when they go to the Maltese Falcon planet.

Also, ffs, either make another Iron Giant move or leave him alone.

Kids will love it, the parents will probably get a small kick out of the nostalgia and pop references.

Will they though? How much can you kick the nostalgia buttons before they get worn out? I know what all this stuff references and I could barely care. Nostalgic cameos aren't the exciting kick they once were, they're just the baseline expectation for most movies of this scale, to the point where you have to put in as many references as possible (like...Clockwork Orange and the Maltese Falcon?) to even get a modicum of satisfaction.

Anyway, I'm probably just not the target audience for this anymore (old man grumble)

Even if it gets worn out quickly, it's better than nothing.

Same with the white walkers. This is the perfect fit for both of them.

What exactly is the argument here? Literally anything is better than nothing. Like, a normal movie that doesn't rely on cameos to illicit excitement and has some stuff going for it.

?

Like you said, you’re not the target audience. You act like adding anything for adults is a bad thing

It just seems that instead of trying to make good animated movies though, they are focused on “how do we put every IP that we own into these movies”.

For The Lego Movies, it worked, because most LEGO’s these days are based on IP anyway. But with SCOOB! it was out of place and it looks out of place here, too.

I hope its good...I do not take "its a kid movie" as an excuse Pixar makes family movies and they get awards and money so its BS to say you can't do it...its bad and lazy writers if this film isn't good because I bet you a coke the MCU or Pixar could make this film work.

It's not like it's easy to just make a good movie. There's a reason why Disney dominates the box office, they attract the best creatives and WB's recent offerings have not exactly been creative works of genius.

I get the impression that the only reason this movie is getting made is that fans have been asking for it since the original came out and it should be an easy cash grab.
