Spider-Man: No Way Home

I feel really bad for the post teams right now; having to figure out who leaked it and to get this trailer out ASAP.
It’s watermarked with the employee’s (or trailer vendor employee’s) name on it, you can see it in the video. The finger will be pointed at him.

*her.

Wassilia Lmouachi has been a very active VFX artist over the past decade (increasingly over the past few years) on a ton of high profile projects. I can’t imagine she leaked this on her own.

What probably happened was she shared the unfinished trailer with someone who is a part of the media who she trusted and she used to leak stories, never thinking that this person would actually leak the trailer that has her name on it.

Here’s her IMDB credits:

My apologies - I thought it said Vassili. Watched the video on my phone and it was hard to make out.

Either way - when I used to work on trailer/promos and cuts of films at the studio I was at, if something got out with my watermark on it, no excuse would save me from termination.

Oh, I’d be surprised if she isn’t let go because of this.

Do we know what time the trailer should be out today? Saw the thing on the phone, didn’t get much from it other than some recognizable voices.

Assuming it does come out today (and isn't held off for Shang-Chi); it'll be around 6PM Nevada time to 9PM Nevada time.

If the trailer that leaked is what it looks like as of now, it's not ready for launch as the trailer did not have finished CGI.

I have to assume, have to, that what leaked out was from a build of the trailer from sometime ago and wouldn't be up to date.

Yeah my guess is that is not up to date, cause even if it is Shang Chi isn’t far away at all. They’re going to need to market this movie. I expect it this week, for sure.

They are going to need to market the movie if it's coming out in December, yes, so they need to have a trailer ready.

The question is - and I feel like most haven't given much thought to it - is it actually going to come out then? Sony has been extremely cautious with releasing movies into theaters this year and they don't seem to trust the theatrical market currently. They've been selling off films left and right and they just moved Venom 2. Also notice Sony has spent pretty much no ad dollars on Venom 2 or Spidey 3 so far, which is the most troubling part because it means they are holding back ad-spending currently.

This is very, very true. I always figured it was a go unless Shang Chi utterly flops. Which it may cause were in a pandemic but I’m not sure it’ll do THAT bad. That being said, this is a valid point. I’m not sure when they would move it to then. Boosters will be out and about by January so February makes some sense to me .

There is one man with a laugh like that:

It's--DAFRIEND.

What an awesome trailer…I have no restraint so I will watch every single piece of footage before release - but what a great teaser. Show only one villain (who’s already been confirmed) and leave the others and potentially Maguire and Garfield for the next preview. That last trailer is going to be so great.

And it looks like that December date is sticking for now! Fingers crossed…
