So thought I would venture over here for the first time outside of the VB thread  and start to keep an eye out for construction updates, from what I have been reading I get the impression this could be one very lengthy process at Disney construction speeds...

Anyway, found this, not sure if anyone has seen it already but some good clear large pictures in the link below on progress over at SWL. Not much to see obviously but nice to see something other than dirt going up.

To be clear, those walls aren't even for SWL. They are for the Railroad and Rivers of America separation.

Oh, apologies. Thanks for pointing that out. I simply plucked two random photos from all in the link rather than specifically picking them but regardless I was unaware the walls are not for SWL, photos removed from my post now, link remains. Everything that I have seen so far seems to show this general area for SWL so hopefully I am looking at the correct construction site for SWL .

I mean, it's all connected to the SWL project so it's all good (they need to get the river and railroad done before major construction on the land can get going).

Are there any recent aerial pictures of what the plot of land looks like since they have started demolition?

I will be honest here and I have not read through this entire thread yet, which I plan to do when I get time but for now can someone help me out with understanding the aerial photo and the other site pictures that float about like below. are these areas at the same site? I feel like I am missing the obvious, maybe some research would have helped before asking but not had the time yet.

That aerial is for the Disneyland Park version, not the DHS version.

That alone shows how far behind DHS is to getting vertical. You can also note that it's Disneyland's by the Matterhorn off in its distance. And you can also tell that it's DLR as Orlando's doesn't have real mountains next to it...

Also, the parts of the DL site that have gone vertical are more about the visual screening between Rivers of America and SWL than the actual SWL construction. RoA is scheduled to reopen next summer so that is the area they are trying to get done first.

Right ok I have my head round it now, the main confusion for me was not knowing they were developing two but then again the word 'Disneyland' should have given it away! So this thread is really only for construction updates on the DHS site? Also thanks for the responses

Supposedly, Disney is now making real progress in getting the LMA grandstand demolished. Finally.

Looks like you are correct:

Anyone with a good idea of the local area, are there any viewing areas for people to get a good view of the site when they start construction or are we going to have to rely and hope people get good aerial images?

No, there's honestly nowhere to view any of this land from. Even in the park.

Wasn't there another tweet where the Stadium was gone? It wasn't in this thread, but I don't remember which thread it was in.

It was in the Hollywood Studios overhaul thread posted by Alexshow. Here is the Tweet he posted.

So it still has a ways to go until it's gone completely.

I think that the confusion arose from the fact that while there are no sight lines of the stadium remaining from vantage points within the park, that it is still in the process of being demolished in an area that park guests aren't able to see.
