Or...or...

Go with me on this: it's crazy. But what if the show building hosts two trams virtually racing one another?

That would be awesome but... nah.

That would be so fantastic if it was practical/realistic! The space between the trams would be empty though, so that cuts realism. Plus, the tram's timing in terms of distance between each other and where they are compared to a nearby tram isn't always close. There would be lots of waiting.

BUT...if it was possible, that'd be so awesome! Especially of you had the tour guides of each tram "fight" and do silly name calling.

What might be cool is if they had a screen wrap around each individual car on the tram for a more intimate feel.

I don't expect the screen room to be anything different from Kong 360.  However, I strongly believe that F&F will not be a one room show.  It must separate itself from Kong 360 somehow.

Kong 360 is about to get dated.

Here's how I imagine it. It will be similar to RSR in that the first room can contain a garage where they customize your "whip" (aka the Tram), the 2nd scene will be the 3D room and consist of an actual street race. Remember one of the best effects in King Kong is the part at the beginning where the tram is actually driving through the forest. It's a great effect and feels like you're really moving through at a quick pace. F&F could take it to the next level.

I honestly don't see them updating Kong in anyway besides maybe updating the projectors to a higher resolution. Not much you can add or do to Kong, unless they add something in the waiting room before the main show building. Currently it's just dark and there are stones, that's it. I think it'd be cool if they added a bit more eye candy or SOMETHING in that first "cave".

I agree.  A projector upgrade will be needed if F&F goes 4K!

I don't think there should be an issue in making F&F and Kong 4K. Nowhere does it say that 4K projections HAVE to use the Dolby 3D projection system that Transformers and Minion Mayhem use. Dolby 3D is just convenient because it can technically use just one projector to project both the left and right eye onto the screen. With the polarizing 3D glasses system that Kong (and the other older attractions use), it requires one projector per eye. But I don't think there would be an issue in upgrading Kong to 4K and still keeping the cheap polarizing 3D system. Hopefully they'll make Kong brighter as well.

I'll tell you one thing though: F&F is gonna feel a lot more realistic than Kong. I can almost bet you that the ride will take place at night for the drag race. If it's at night, the tops and bottoms of the screens will blend in better with the "night" look of the scenes. The opposite happens with Kong. Since Kong takes place during the daytime and you see the bright jungle and everything, you can clearly see where the screen cuts off on the top and bottom. But F&F will probably solve that. (Same reason BTTF always felt more realistic to me. Whole ride took place at night, which made the black blackgrounds blend in with the sides of the screen)

Maybe they can update Kong with some foliage and a waterfall before entering... a jungle feel in the preshow cave, well waiting cave...

Was it that hard to just take the animatronic into storage until they're ready to install him again?!

Very close to getting their quota too.

I'd like to see it restored, albeit the fact that this may be irrelevant since they might just restore it anyways as it'll probably be moved with the EP.
