I have little doubt that he will be in Mando S3, but tbh, I kinda don't care if he is or isn't in the season. I'm pretty meh on him from TBoBF. He was Badass in Mando S2 and I think had they just left it at that and more naturally utilized him here and there, than it would've been fine.

People loved Temura as Boba after Mando S2. In TBoBF, he looks like an old man that just got elected to lead a nation and wants to come across as a "man of the people". Gathering up a group of people to help him fight off the Hutt's and defend his thrown is about all he's done in this show. He's done almost literally no fighting. At least in a major way. It's all been the same stuff over and over. The coolest fight scene before today's episode were two different ones by Black Krrassantan.

What did you guys make of BD-1 being a prominent droid in the episode? I'm actually thinking if we don't see him in Mando S3, we see him by the end of Ahsoka.

I do hope the use of the BDs give us the chance for Cal. Mentioned this elsewhere, but it's great seeing Fallen Order representing into the TV scape.

Having Cal meet up with Ahsoka and Luke could make a lot of sense if Ahsokas quest is to find Ezra and to establish a new Council of some kind. Even if it's a short lived council, I can see it working rather well. That would leave us with Side A.) for the TV sector being on the reclaimation of Mandalore, with Side B.) being on the side of the forming of the New Jedi Council, before Luke's failed assassination attempt on Ben (Assuming Ben isn't old enough to train yet). That would let the NuCouncil be led by Ahsoka and Luke, with Cal, Ezra, and perhaps if they canonize her story from Visions, F; to make up for a group of six Jedi Masters.

It would emphasize that even small things like Visions, would have importance for TV media; if we see F adapted (And assuming her story is during the period between 66 and Rogue One, would make sense) to the live action screen.

I think it's a shoutout and not Cal's droid. Post-Disney, they've been solid in throwing easter eggs out there. (Cobb Vanth existing in Mando blows my mind still)

I can see the world building out to something similar to Alexander's suggestion to basically create an Avengers/Defenders situation where separate shows and heroes come together. I'd love to see Thrawn's return be the big bad of that. That being said, I don't see them staying long-term with Luke on his nuCouncil because then they all get punked by Kylo/Snoke in 20ish years from now.

With Boba's lack of action after his explosive entrance, it feels like he can become the don of the mando family, where he was a safe hub and money to do what needs to get done in bigger plots as needed due to his honorable bend.

Easily my favorite episode so far, and a great tease for Mando S3, but honestly I hope at this point they kinda cool it with the returning legacy characters. As much as I'd love to see Bossk or Cad Bane show up on either side of the fight, theres only 2 episodes left, it should be bobas story. They should really use these last 2 episodes to fully round out his character, since it seems like a lot of people are still unsure of how to feel about him in this series.

I love this episode of Mando.....but why the hell is the Boba Fett show edited this way? I would like a Version of the show that just tells the story in order and skips the Mando episode except for the last scene...like I just want the story of Boba Fett and they way they have Presented is...to me is weird.

What I think makes me think we maybe should've just of had S3 this year, probably lies in the fact that Steven Weintraub has alluded towards people in the production calling it The Mandalorian 2.5.

It's not that I don't think Boba can hold off, but we spent four episodes on a subject that could've been condensed into three (or even two episodes). The characterization of Tatooine is great, I won't knock that down, but they needed to find a compromise. Be that releasing two 55-60 minute episodes containing the stuff from EP1-4, or three 46-50 minute episodes, containing the stuff from EP1-4. The more I think of the initial episodes prior, falls in that it could've been condensed, and that they could've showed more of a restrained but just as brutal, Boba that we saw back in The Tragedy of The Mandalorian.

I also think the 7 episode count does not do well in this case.

There’s too much to cover in just 2 episodes. Unless they roll most of the things that need to be covered over into Mando 3, it’s gonna have a rocky ending.

Agreed

I love Mando but an episode and a half for him...in a show for Boba Fett? It also kinda ruins the flow and themes...like its if Bad Batch had like 1/5 of its next season with the crew from Rebels and thier story had nothing to do with the bad batch in any way...lol

I think we're in for some very fan service-y stuff in the coming episodes. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we get a scene with Luke teaching Din how to properly wield the Darksaber. And then the whole Han rumor and the fact that we're in for not only Qu'ira with the Pykes, but Cad Bane. They've built the Pykes up to sound like they are really dominant on Tatooine right now so I wouldn't be surprised.

Wow

Too much for these two episodes...would love those people to show up...in season 2 but think he should defeat the Pykes which puts a target on his back.

I honestly don't know if this show will get a second season... or if I really care to see one more honestly. It probably will, I just feel like Episode 5 showed us that The Mandalorian is way more intriguing of a show on a completely different level than Book of Boba Fett.

As i've stated, I feel like a lot of that's because Boba, at this point in his life, is sort of a character that I want to win the war with the Pykes and then I want to see Fennec shoot him in the back of the head. That would be gangster as hell to really elevate Fennec as the ultimate Badass, takeover the thrown herself, and put an end to Boba, which I think is needed.

God...do you want to piss fans off?

I was already meh when Cad Bane and Fennec were equals in bad batch....if you kill a legacy character with a new character I just dont see it going well.

I'd want a second season mainly because of the editing of this one...lets have a story that is just Boba doing stuff and almost no flashbacks

Sure, if they get pissy, then that's on them not realizing that what we are seeing is not the Boba of legend. We're seeing AARP Boba that's become soft as hell. I'd totally buy it and think it was f'n awesome if Fennec showed why people have been so afraid of her since the first time we saw her in The Mandalorian and killing Boba off for the throne.

...but then again, i'm among the group of fans the loves The Last Jedi, soooooo. I'm not one of these hard core "nothing can ever change" fans (reminds me of the Epcot Center fans that don't want the park to change).

This is my exact thought. This weeks episode has solidified to me that they are building the Star Wars version of Avengers. These shows will build to one big battle, and by intersecting/providing back story we create connections - both to the characters, and the characters to each other.

Other random thoughts:
1. We are 100% going to see Grogu in the droid spot on The Mando Mobile. They basically just made a motorcycle/sidecar situation. Honestly love it.
2. The ship screams space Batmobile and I am here for it.
3. Definitely a great episode. I hope this sets up both Boba and Mando to have hero moments the next two episodes. We needed to see badass Boba yesterday.

Are you say to...

let the past die, kill it if you have to?

I don't think Fennec's character would justify a turn like that. She's got a life debt and you've never seen a betrayal like that, or at least not yet.

All I’m saying is she doesn’t seem 100% loyal to Boba this season like we had seen in Mando Season 2. Her and Boba also have a very different world view.

I think we'll see something more similar to (And I'll spoiler tag this: Arcane) how they portrayed the dynamic between that of Silco and Sevika.

In their case, they work off that of the sense of loyalty, and the sense of ensuring things can work as good as they can. But even when Silco begins to waver, Sevika, with an example to show Silco of how close; would be willing to stay by his side. I think we'll see that with Fennec.

I don't inheritably buy off Fennec betraying Boba, but I can see an "Example" being need made to get Boba back up onto the roughened nature we saw him in The Tragedy.

This show is no longer The Book of Boba Fett and I couldn’t be happier. These last two episodes...just…wow.

I kind of picture the Filoni and Favreau creative discussion during writing being like…

Filoni: “You know….Jon, I’m not sure this show is really heading anywhere great. I think we need to pivot.”

Favreau: “But Dave, we already wrote 4 episodes! I don’t want to backtrack and start all over!”

Filoni: “Okay fine, but let’s try and just make this about Mando again and give the fans what they want. They probably won’t even care that Boba is missing for a while.”

Well now, now we're in proper Mando 2.5 territory.

Cad. Bane.

Yup, they are going to the Pykes. Honestly I really wonder if they're going to have Emilia Clarke onboard for the season finale, considering Bane has a heavy hand with the Pykes. Would make ample sense if Han is coming back, that we see Qi-Ra to set up potential conflicts to come for the sake of the Lando series.
