If they just cleaned one spot (I can't see the picture) I'm sure it was to test out the cleaning agent or cleaning procedure to see what kind of results they can get with it.

Pictures from today, can anyone explain if these white spots I am finding have been there and I have noticed or are they something new, maybe some initial testing for work to come. Oh and no crane or lifts that I could see, but can someone tell me whats in my first picture. I must be blind if its been there because I have never noticed it.

Those white spots might be primer paint (To help the paint last longer). Anyway, I'm happy that Universal is finaly get work done on the Hulk but still the mist continues to do its job. Hide the rust / paint job while still uglying the Hulk!

One last time guys....they won't paint their premier roller coaster in the middle of summer. The earliest will be winter when the crowds are at their lightest and the weather at its best.

I think that it has been there the whole time.
At first glance I had never noticed that thing either, but then I realized I had seen something like it earlier this year.
In March, they used it as a ramp to get the lift into the splashdown area:

I knew it had always been there when I was looking at it since its poured concrete, but until now could of never guessed that was what its used for. Thanks for clearing that up.

Well, that ramp thingy makes no sense... the lifts are lowered by a crane, so why not just lower them to the base? Unless it is new and it is a lift that raises to upper walkway level? I have never noticed it in my life and I notice odd things like that. Plus, the plywood walls appear more as molds than barriers. I think it is possibly new. Compare it to all other concrete in the area which is stained etc.

hopefully they will repaint hulk a couple weeks after school starts so the crowds will die down that will be a good time to shut hulk down for a repaint/referb.

Why is it that hard for UNI to paint one small part of their landmark attraction? This is starting to get really frustrating because it is such a great ride, but one part is rotting away and that makes me not want to ride anymore. Universal haven't refurbed anything recently and now that WWOHP is open, more and more people are coming. At least put on a quick coat overnight so these masses of people dont see a brown coaster. A few weeks ago, a guy went up to me and asked " Is that Hulk rollercoaster supposed to be brown around the bridge?" I told him that this isnt normal and it is supposed to be green but isnt because of rust, and he shook his head. I also told him to complain at guest services.
That shows that casual guests that go for one day are starting to notice the rust and that is bad news for Universal.

Those ( amazing!) pictures showed just how bad this rust has become. This isnt a county fair coaster, the HULK should be painted and shouldnt look like one. It is really sad that such a great park as IOA can have such an incredible coaster attraction can be rotting away like this.

I don't think painting over the rust will fix it.
