Imagine the copter as a bizarre awning over the entrance. Also imagine it looking completely unnecessary, forced and obtuse.

Unfortunately, you described the exact and only way I can imagine it looking.

The chopper is evidently going to be on a smaller scale to fit the forced perspective on the rest of Baker Street, but it'll stick out like a sore thumb without a doubt.

I'm just hoping the pathway leading from the attraction marquee to the entrance of the building itself isn't painfully un-themed.

Ironic that you mentioned this. I just noticed this today but the entire back side of the show building looks like it's going to be charred themed facade. I took this pic from the bridge near the black gate/globe theater this morning.

Well, that's a relief. Not the prettiest way to theme the building, but it's better than slapping a bunch of cardboard cutouts on the walls (I'm looking at you, TF). I wonder how they'll transition from the exterior of that generic, charred building to the interior of the hospital featured in the first episode of the show.

The way they do with every maze that Murdy works on..... plain black hallways of doom...

But no, seriously. There won't be any "transition". You will literally walk into the building & be inside the hospital. Don't try to over think it too much. You guys like to complain about Mummy... well, that was a Murdy project too. The queue will be themed & probably be the closest thing to an ET queue we'll get for a while (featuring animatronic stuffs ....rather than props/video screens)

The exterior theming along the building is technically supposed to be the Hospital you enter. Why the show building is exposed is beyond me.

Because most Hospitals have exposed show buildings.  :D

Then why not theme the entire building? Hmmm?

Went to Universal today and took some update pictures. Not sure if someone has already posted a recent update, but oh well.

Well, there goes the Christmas shop façade..! It also looks like they've set up the lights that'll illuminate the helicopter and the walkway beneath it.

The attraction queue entrance (at least the part we can see) looks so awkward. I'd have rather seen no space between the old & new facades & have a wrecked/damaged building façade for the alleged helicopter to be shoved into to make the crash look less awkward. -shrugs-

The brick being added to the entrance makes it look more awkward. I'm dreading how that alleged helicopter is going to look. I'm curious to see how they execute this whole exterior.... and the scary part is... they have 3 weeks until it officially grand opens. I don't know what it is with USH & waiting until the last minute to try & get everything completed. Honestly, those walls should've been down by now or at least by the end of next week.

Its a maze not a ride, if walls aren't down yet it's no big deal they'll probably only have like a week of softs

who cares about soft opening? The exterior can be done & walls down without there being a soft opening. It being a maze instead of a ride means nothing. Just like a ride, it has to test... in this case, it would be the animatronics, puppets, live-actors and special effects. If those aren't perfected, that sort've kills the experience, especially for something like this.

But my point still stands, Universal has a trend for waiting until the last minute to try & get things finished in time. ....or they finish it/make changes after _____ opens.

Got some more photos too, but mine are pretty similar to InsideUniversal's, just close-ups.

They also took down the walls around the Baker Street Music Hall, as well as the buildings on either side of it.  The walls are still up around the main entrance, though, and it seems nothing looks different around there.
