As one who digs the thrills but doesn't care for scares, I like the newer version better. I rode FJ 5 times during softs and because I'm a big chicken, I had my eyes closed during half the live set portions. Now to just convince baby sister to ride it with me

I know this has already been discussed in pretty large detail, but it's pretty disappointing how much Forbidden Journey has been toned down. Having taken a ride for the first time in many months last week, the ride could easily put me to sleep now. Rides like Cat in the Hat are now more sickening/intense.

Your memory may be playing tricks on you. As someone who rides FJ several times a week, I can testify that the motion programming changes have been subtle and confined to the 3 dome scenes. Mostly they reduced (but not eliminated) the side-to-side motion and improved the visual clarity. It's noticeable if you've ridden many times but not a huge, destructive difference. And all the live scenes are essentially untouched.

As a disclaimer, I will say that everyone feels/views how thrilling a thrill ride is differently than the next person, giving us all a different view on the same ride experience. Although I tend to agree with others on here that there is a major difference in ride experience since the reprogramming/refining of the ride. When FJ first opened it was pretty intense, and now since they reprogrammed the ride, it feels as though its on a kid-friendly setting.

Went to Universal this weekend and was able to ride FJ for the first time with the new settings. I personally didn't notice any changes to the movement aspect. It did appear that the projections in the domes were substantially better. Not certain if that was part of the changes, but they seemed alot clearer. I would occasionally feel a little nauseous in the dome screens before, but noticed after the ride was over, I did not feel nauseous at all. I think whatever changes were made are positive overall and make the ride more enjoyable for most riders.

The ride is definitely better after the settings were changed. It feels slightly smoother and the domes looks better than before.

Hogwarts side view

This is the side view. Each block from the Great Hall was molded from plaster blocks (Lego size) (Hence it took 6 months.)

Thanks! Yes the model stands 4 feet at the highest. I bought silicone moldes from a web-site called Hirstarts. I guess kids play a game where they create dungeons and castles and they use those molds to make whatever they want. I spend a lot of money on the molds. (but they can be used hundreds of times) The molds produce "Lego" size blocks, windows, doors, etc: I mixed plaster (from hobby-lobby) let it set up, then pour into the mold, let set for 5 mins, scrape top of mold smooth, let set for 20 mins, pop blocks out from mold, then bake in the oven at 250 degrees or air dry cure for 48 hours (before using) Then glue and with clear glue. You can also sand the blocks if you need to. It took FOREVER to make enough blocks! (So hence 5 months for the total project) I had NO model experience so this was all made from my imagination and pictures. The hardest part was the square towers in the back. It was fun and I have build Gringotts, Hagrids Huts and the Owlry and some Diagon Alley shops. (I'm running out of room now...lol) The pictures from start to finish are kind of cool, as you can see I was just winging it. Hope all you Harry Potter and creative types enjoy my project. Peace

Any word on the closing of Zonko's and the expansion of Honeydukes? What does it look like now?

While I was on dragon challenge yesterday, I noticed the Hogsmeade ticketing booths inside of the train station had taken shape. Four of them to be exact with themed Hogsmeade signs and large glass windows for booths.
