I've seen a lot of death eaters masks in pictures. Are these just for decoration or do they have them for sale? Although I imagine the price is outrageous if they did... I have a friend who would love one. :P

I think people are saying ridiculous things now just to get quote on television. Click Orlando quoted someone from the Rosen hospitality school as saying that WWoHP will have the same impact on Orlando was the Magic Kingdom did when it was built back in 1971. Yeah, it's going to draw lots more tourists, but I just can't see it bringing hotels, other theme parks and attractions, new restaurants and an entire industry. Really, it's only three rides, two of which are recycled, and several remarkably detailed but cramped stores an a yummy restaurant. I can't wait to see what the crowds are like after GO week. I still have high hopes FJ's single riders line will remain reasonable so I can break my 13-in-one-day record this summer.

I may love Harry Potter, and this land may be amazing for ME... But regular guests are going to pass it off as a regular land with a cool new ride that they've got to hit once to say they've done it... I can't wait to go to it though! It's gonna be so cool!

I don't think it'll have nearly that effect. You'd be crazy to actually believe it will. but I do believe it will be the biggest thing since the MK to hit Orlando.

Well I think I'm getting my crest and a banner... If I had the money, I'd buy everything in the park lol... Man, I really wish I could go. It sucks living in Florida and not being able to go now... I'd really like some of the unique stuff they came up with... There are some cool effects, like the quill writing by itself in the window... That's really neat. And I'll have to buy a sugar quill...

the quill effect hasnt been working in weeks and looks like it may never happen... not to be a bummer but you should know before you get there and then dont see it

I certainly agree with this... It's going to draw in crowds. Fans will think it amazing, regular guests, puzzling and neat, theme park junkies may find it a tad boring, but only because of thrill factor, the immersion will make up for that 100 fold...

It's a very simple effect, I'm sure Universal will fix it. It's the only effect in it's window from what I've seen...

Yeah, it won't be as big as MK...but it'll certainly have an impact. Someone made a comment somewhere that it was the Harry Potter fan Mecca. Good way to put it for sure.

Have been off line for several days, whew! Alot to catch up on. Wondering how many OU's are heading out Friday and what the time plan is they are looking at? My son and I are going, he is excited to say he was there for opening day. Since we have already been out we are going for the moment. Anyone heard where the opening ceremonies will be, FJ side or Hogwarts Express side?
I confess here that I cried when I saw my sons face on entering. I could see in his face how he had just walked into a dream. Somewhere he had read about and loved for soooo long. That being said I would love to meet up with some of you on Friday if possible....always fun to get your geek on in a group!

Belle I highly recommend you check out the GO topic for a bit more info but in short the event will stream online. For those in the park it will be shown on the screen at POE (& maybe another one) but nobody will get close to the area before the events are done & the celebs. are out of there. (this would be late morning as I've said before)

Do you think the crowds at USF will be small while everyone is at IOA for WWOHP on GO weekend?

There will still be some crowds but most of them will go to IOA.

I don't know if I asked this before on this thread, but has anyone seen the Birch wands? I think they are for the late December and January birthdays...that'd be my birthday wand. If anyone has seen a picture or can describe it, please let me know :)

My sister's b-day is Dec. 26th so I ended up buying her that wand... http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/photo.php?pid=4345409&id=644474150 In that pic it will be the one in the top left corner light handle and darker shaft (only has 3 boxes above it)
