This was fun to read.

I understand that Potter is a destination in of itself, but that's why it is best to refurbish it before the HP Weekends, which is when most fans going on a Potter trip would plan on going. Mid-January is probably the least busy time of the year. They just need to announce it earlier this time. Even if UO doesn't usually announce closures until very soon before, I feel like Potter should be different.

Also, it's funny that Teebin mentioned Potter being its own park within a park... because I just realized WWoHP alone actually has more rides then DHS...

Um...
Hollywood Studios: Star Tours, Toy Story Mania, Tower of Terror, Rockin' Rollercoaster, Great Movie Ride
WWoHP: Forbidden Journey, Gringots, Dragon Challenge, Hippogriff

Almost, but the fact that they are comparable (heck anyone would rather just see WWoHP than all of Hollywood Studios) is just sad. You should not be able to compare a full park to just one land (I guess two).

Oh that.

More like rumor. The kiddies at UC have been playing with their Kuka mounted Ford Anglia toy again recently. I found that tiny tidbit interesting.

That's all I got.

and the WWOHP has a lot to do that aren't rides. when you include it all, i think it stacks up well against what DHS has to offer.
WWOHP has: The Frog Chior, Tri-Wizard Spirit Rally, 2 Tales from Beetle the Bard, and Celestina Warback and the Banshees.

And lets not forget the interactive experiences such as 2 Ollivander's and the interactive wand stuff, and the Gringott's Money Changing branch.

DHS has: Indy, BatB, VOTLM, Disney Jr., F!

And their interactive stuff is Jedi, and Drawn to Animation (Oh, wait. never mind).

You can't control when you have vacation time, so while Harry Potter fans may prefer to go during the celebration week, that may not be an option. So, if you close that ride down for a week that would be devastating. Add to that Hulk isnt available... Disaster, probably Twister ... that would be a bit too much for me to swallow if I were in that situation. Just an injury and insult situation. If the ride needed maintenance ... that's one thing .. but that's not what were talking about here. And I would hope that the Universal powers that be would be smart enough to announce any planned down-age of Harry Potter rides super well in advance. Except for Hippogriff and Dueling Dragons ... who gives a whiffle about those.

About that 3-D upgrade, I wonder how they would handle guests returning the glasses? Not a lot of room in the offload area for that.

Also, what the heck is a whiffle?

Yeah, I watched an old video today and saw animated robotic characters I have never seen before in Diagon. Density wise, it is the greatest single themed location in the US from what I have seen. It borders on wasteful creativity.

They could put it at the end of the stairs or right before.

Heck, 7 if you count the Hogwarts Express both ways. Although, I'd say that's closer to 6.5.

Well I tried to play Devil's Advocate but Disney just makes it so dam hard. The only thing I got going for it is stuff that isn't opening for over a two years.
