I'm hearing President's Day weekend for softs, makes sense considering my pass is completely blocked out that weekend. Bummer

I've heard from employees who have already been fitted for their robes that the week of President's day (15-21) is when they're aiming for Employee Preview and soft opening. Not sure about the validity of these claims but it seems like mid-late February is when we should keep our eyes open.

Walls most likely down on 2/15 (maybe the week prior as well, maybe), which is about a month from now. I do wonder if MLK weekend will be a record low for the park. Regardless, the ticking clock on USH's off-season has started. Those who enjoyed the park in this state, I would go as much as possible because it's probably never coming back.

I don't think that they need to have a team member preview before the soft..... Bc I went on Transformers a good month before opening and I don't think that they had already done previews......

They did. They soft opened literally the day after EPN. There's almost always EPN, and there will be with Potter.

I'm sure you're already trying to figure out a way to "rent out" Hogsmeade for your bday as a private party/event like big corporations do with the parks in general, only you'll just be renting out WWOHP

Since you brought it up, I'm sure it's gonna be a crazy super popular (and expensive) place to rent out after Universal opens it up for renting!

Imagine renting out all of Hogsmeade for a wedding! That would be so beautiful! Hogwarts here in Hollywood is gonna be the spot of many proposals soon!

Her managers haven't mentioned specifics about soft openings yet, but they did mention it will NOT be within January like we all were hoping for :/

I had informed you guys last month that January would not be happening, lol. The only way it would've happened is if USH put the pedal to the metal to be done before January which there was no need to.

I still don't know what deadlines they have other than having the stores set by the end of next week, with the absolute last deadline being the end of the month. Soft openings on holiday weekends shouldn't be happening either but that's still in the air.

As Alan Rickman had just passed away, I wonder if USH will sneak in a last minute tribute to him in the Harry Potter lands.  I would love to see a Snape reference in the Wizarding World.  So sad to hear the news, especially right after David Bowie had passed

As Alan Rickman had just passed away, I wonder if USH will sneak in a last minute tribute to him in the Harry Potter lands. I would love to see a Snape reference in the Wizarding World.

There is a minor reference to Snape in the FJ queue as pointed out by Aaron, but I'm surprised that's as far as it goes. I wonder if Rickman turned down an offer to be included in the attraction itself back when they were filming the ride footage in 2009. Snape is also referenced in the queue for Gringotts over in USF, which is interesting.

Had a very difficult day at work today because of the passing of Alan Rickman. Very emotional the whole day, and I'm still in absolute shock. Haven't been affected by a celebrity death like this since Robin Williams. He was such an incredible human being and phenomenal actor. Beyond devastating :'(

Our USH Forbidden Journey team members had some touching tributes and memorials backstage and in the breakrooms for Alan today. It was so touching.
