Hey, new user but I had a question, how do you know when its going to be open for soft openings? 


Im thinking about making the hour drive on SAT 12th of March if I can find out that its going to be open.

First off: welcome to the site!


Secondly, soft openings are unpredictable. In such, unfortunately there's no way to confirm it'll be open until after April 7th. On Twitter you can search for the hashtag PotterWatch which will inform you if the land is open or not (IU's Twitter account usually retweets those as well), however it may also close anytime after that as well.


What it comes down to ultimately is if it's worth the risk for you. If you have a season/annual pass, don't mind using gas and have plans to go soon after WWoHP officially opens, I'd say it would be fine to go and try. However if this is the only day you can afford to go this and are springing for a 1-day ticket, I'd say to hold off. Go during May when the land will be open and crowds may not be as ruthless as they will be later in the summer. Hope this helps!

Yesterday (Mar7) I saw two things; one made be smile the other made feel sad.


A group of girls late teens were entering the park, rushing to "Transformers" at opening. As they rounded the corner in front of Potter they saw it was open. Screams of excitement and jumping up and down. They had NO IDEA Wizarding World was open.


As we were leaving the park (about 4:30PM) we say two couples fully decked out in robes, hats and wands walking quickly towards Potter. It had closed just before 4. Their disappointment is so sad we could feel it.

That's a bit comforting.  It's been driving me crazy as a refresh my email all day.  I hope they all go out today.  Has anyone made a reservation for a time slot?  Do spots seem to be filling fast?  Is the website still glitchy?

I just received mine about 2 hours ago. Be sure to check your spam boxes. That's where I found mine. You have the choices of March 19th-23rd and also March 29th and 30th.

Each person in your party must have a valid AP on the day you choose for your ASAP preview. You can register as many as you'd like but you need each AP holders pass number which is located beneath the barcode. Blackout days will be lifted for the day you choose.

I've been checking my Spam folder all day without any luck.  A Twitter user forwarded me their email and that link worked better but when I put in my pass member ID it gets stuck on processing for a long time.  After awhile I eventually get an error message:

 Root element is missing.


Has that happened to anyone else?  Any idea what's going on?  Do I just need to be patient and wait for my own email or should this be working?

Nevermind, tried it on another computer and it worked out.  Bummer all the preview times are 9am.  I would have loved to do an evening preview after work after Easter.  How long do you think the our preview will run?

I'm going to buy the costco pass (the cheapest one) tomorrow night and I'm hoping slots for the 19th or 20th would still be open since I work during the week.
