driving around the area around UoR, noticing the different site lines --- me personally, I find it neat to see skylines featuring HRRR, Doom, a Volcano, and a Helios Grand.

Ya. Sure... I'll believe it when I see it...... :D :nervous::lmao:....Epic opening has a nice positive for AP holders. For the first time in my memory, Universal has posted AP hotel rates for almost all of 2025. I just got a really good rate for 6 nights at Portofino in mid November. So I jumped on it now. Can't really beat an avg. of $350 a night for a resort like Portofino. I'll round out the vacation with some fairly inexpensive nights at CBBR for Thanksgiving week for a long 15 night vacation.....Couple debut Epic days when the tickets become easier to book.

If strollers aren't allowed into Super Nintendo World, why are there stroller parking signs within the world?

This is the right energy. Thousands of people want to be the first person on a ride, when they could be the first guest who throws up in the bushes.

I mean - think about it! Opening day will be the cleanest those bathrooms will ever be.

As someone who detests public restrooms this would be an appeal of going opening day!

I’m going the first three days the Epic is open. I am such a Nintendo fan (Mario especially) I cannot fathom going to Epic opening day and not doing Mario Kart first. It’s the land I’m most excited about and the land I’ve been dreaming about since I was a kid. So, I’ll probably do Mario Kart day 1. Early for Mine-Cart day 2. Early for Stardust Racers day 3. Then I’ll sprinkle in the other lands when I can. The only other one I’m super hyped for is Dark Universe. So I’ll definitely do Unchained and Curse. If I can get in HTTYD or MoM rides, great, but because I’m not a huge fan of the IPs, they definitely aren’t must dos for me.

Ugh: the Barney restrooms were up there with the Q for Quan restrooms as the most disgusting ever.

A good rule of thumb: don't ever use restrooms in a land that toddlers spend a lot of time in. Ever.

Were the Barney restrooms the only ones with low kid sized toilets? Wonder if Epic will have any.

Drove in to Stella Nova tonight around midnight to meet up with some friends. We all got a room together for the opening days.

I really wasn't expecting to be as awestruck as I am at how beautiful this park looks at night. Helios is the first thing that caught my eye. It's truly glorious at night. So regal and perfectly dim in the skyline. It's absolutely huge too. Such an incredible icon for the park. That big sun in the middle makes an incredible impression. Helios is gonna be the thing that everyone wants a picture of when this opens.

Seeing Starfall Racers race through the night out my hotel window; seeing the red light illuminating Bowser's Castle; seeing the silhouette of Berk's spire mountain in the distance. This park is truly a marvel, and I'm looking at it from a mile away. I cannot wait to be able to experience all of this from inside the park as it was designed to be seen.

It's truly strange, being in a location that is definitively and unmistakably Universal Orlando Resort in both style and substance; while being somewhere completely new and entirely unfamiliar. There will come a time when this new complex and campus is as usual and plain as the north campus has become for me, but for now, I'm really taking in this strange feeling. This is first time I've ever experienced anything completely new from UOR, and it's such an incredibly exciting feeling. I'm sure I will feel this way tenfold come May as I walk through the Chronos for the first time.

This has always been a thought of mine. Being in that area - will it feel like I'm actually at Universal?

Glad to hear it still does!

My first experiences with Epic Universe will likely be:
  • Accidentally getting spoiled on the rides and secrets at the park by the YouTube algorithm.
  • Watching all the cool day one/dated Universal Monsters merch sell out before my annual HHN trip in the fall.
  • Somehow going on a day when one or more rides/attractions are down.

I am going opening weekend and I cannot even begin to process how busy it'll be. Like how early am I gonna be standing out there before early park admission starts lol. I am a veteran of the opening to ROTR so I feel like I have some level of readiness.

Honestly, the hope is it's much more Rise of the Resistance and much less Hagrids. I certainly don't love virtual queues, especially when they are used as a crutch, but I like them significantly better than waiting 12 hours in a line for a ride. This is a US park in a modern age, and I will be very interested to see how they handle operations and queuing, especially when there's a higher chance of ride downtime.

I'm low-key worried about just getting into the parking lot. That line could stretch back out onto Destination/Kirkman if everyone tries to be as early as possible.

I just straight up wouldn't recommend driving for opening day. There's gotta be a better way -- realistically, taxi/uber
