Drove in to Stella Nova tonight around midnight to meet up with some friends. We all got a room together for the opening days.
I really wasn't expecting to be as awestruck as I am at how beautiful this park looks at night. Helios is the first thing that caught my eye. It's truly glorious at night. So regal and perfectly dim in the skyline. It's absolutely huge too. Such an incredible icon for the park. That big sun in the middle makes an incredible impression. Helios is gonna be the thing that everyone wants a picture of when this opens.
Seeing Starfall Racers race through the night out my hotel window; seeing the red light illuminating Bowser's Castle; seeing the silhouette of Berk's spire mountain in the distance. This park is truly a marvel, and I'm looking at it from a mile away. I cannot wait to be able to experience all of this from inside the park as it was designed to be seen.
It's truly strange, being in a location that is definitively and unmistakably Universal Orlando Resort in both style and substance; while being somewhere completely new and entirely unfamiliar. There will come a time when this new complex and campus is as usual and plain as the north campus has become for me, but for now, I'm really taking in this strange feeling. This is first time I've ever experienced anything completely new from UOR, and it's such an incredibly exciting feeling. I'm sure I will feel this way tenfold come May as I walk through the Chronos for the first time.
