Yea, I like to think that's the biggest difference here. So far, I've been impressed with Comcast's handling of the parks. They are definitely not at all like some of the previous owners of the parks. But we shall see how this all shakes out.

Still a very uncertain time for literally everything in the world right now. I'm remaining optimistic myself.

My most optimistic view is that we’ll at least get SNW at USF somewhere down the road if EU doesn’t happen. Lol

What's that Universal? You're rethinking Fantastic Beasts and instead you're gonna replace it with Jurassic World to look like Bejiing? Or Lord of the Rings?! Okay!

If they have LOTR, I'd absolutely be pulling that trigger.

Not sure JW will be an option when it certainly seems that's going to be going into IOA

And Beijing's signature JW ride is (supposedly) just another variant on Spider-Man/Transformers. Don't need one of those in Orlando.

They never officially announced FB so I guess it’s very easy to backtrack if they wanted to. I’m interested to think what IP’s could work in the space that they allocated for FB. Most of the area was indoors right?

what about continuing down the Warner Brothers line and doing a Gotham/Batman area? Would that infringe any copyright issues with six flags?

What about a Sherlock Homes theme? Could still keep a lot of the London architecture?

This may be a stupid question:

Since building permits were filed for FB/Potter, I’m sure development has been done on rides and ride buildings and infrastructure, IF, again IF, there is a possible longer delay (2025+), is it that difficult for Universal to totally scratch those plans and build the area totally fresh? Without whatever the FB/Potter area was going to be?

I’m just not sure how locked something like that could possibly be.

For what it’s worth, so far, no plans have changed, or are looking to change.

Shockingly, I’ve been hearing positive things recently.

Positive as in for things moving forward?

Im not surprised to hear no changes cause I’d think it’s too late for that, I guess my thing is if it delays further and further. I’m sure they’re not entirely tied down to infrastructure plans but I obviously have zero background in construction. I even tried building a bird house this weekend and cut the wood in half by mistake so, what do I know!

Almost like it's still happening and a 2-3 year issue won't impact overall long term economic projections for the area.

So since I gotta respond to this, FUD in America is "Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt" that was used by WinTel salesmen when trying to sell their systems to IT departments. The argument being "ok sure xxx is good now but do they have the support of IBM? Will they fail?" or something of that nature. So FUD in this respect comes down to thinking micro on a macro issue.

I know there's still quite a bit of work happening on the property.

I was thinking about this the other day and realizing that the smartest move may be to plow ahead with construction now. An economic downturn may be an ideal time to build with ample labor available and other construction projects on hold, making it cheaper to build. Then in 3-4 years when things improve having a new draw to get things back on track.

This fits in well with the attitude of "never let a crisis go to waste".

Maybe it’s because I love theme parks in general, but this year has fuelled by need for escapism. I fully expect more, not less them park visits personally over the coming years. If people have the financial capabilities, which is the big question, I’d expect the same elsewhere. People will want fun after this...I hope for a quick bounceback

So, considering the HTTYD show (at least on here) is rumored/speculated to be at the new Beijing park, id imagine thats going to be the flagship of that land? I mean, isn't Waterworld the only show they've re-produced out of the states? Id like to think this shows their confidence in that specific project. Probably easy to put into other parks across the world to have HTTYD represented.

New patent for a haptic feedback system in a ride vehicle with directional speakers. This is now the second patent with haptic feedback

Capacity would be a nightmare but this type of coaster or an RMC, would be top of my wish list for the new park.

This park needs a coaster to differentiate itself and the concept art doesn’t seem to be it.

I’m assuming that’s Universal’s plan. But, we’re in the calm before the economic storm. Construction prices haven’t yet plummeted and demand isn’t down as much as you’d think.

In a couple months, I imagine this will (sadly) look different. Then, Universal will lock in cheap prices and get to work...I hope.

Capacity WOULD be a nightmare but a single rail would make it actually feel more like you were actually on the back of a dragon. I want it. I don't care how unrealistic is haha

If RMC ever build their two across concept, it would be perfect.

There's something beautiful about the flat track. I think it would be mesmerising looking ahead when riding.
